Insulated and refrigerated vehicle
The present invention relates to an isothermal and refrigerated motor vehicle characterized in that 41 comprises a body with heat-insulated walls capable of @ fixed in a removable manner on a usual chassis, or on a trailer, this body comprising one or more compara receiving the foodstuffs, walls or 6 heat changers one or more cold-producing compartments easily accessible from the outside and which may include a motor-compressor unit,
The subject of the invention is also a preferred method of cont tion of the above body, isothermal and refrigerated, and which can affect in particular either the conventional exterior shape of a container that can be transported at will on a flat wagon or vehicle shape. automobile,
either conform to the invention of a removable automobile body, or even a large trunk.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
This body, which is very rigid and solid, despite being very light and perfectly heat-insulated, is remarkable in particular in that it has walls divided into small boxes, in each of which is stuffed with a heat-insulating material.
Thanks to the compartmentalization of the doublas walls the: insulating products are perfectly maintained in place and has the absolute certainty that as a result in particular of the gratitude and the phenomena of inertia due to the jolts of transport and handling the heat-insulating material will not risk moving like this is generally the case in known heat-insulating mages where the athermane wall has an insulating neck with a very large surface area, for example that of all an insulating panel and is, therefore, likely to settle, in particular by gravity, thus causing lack of insulation in certain areas of the wall.
Other characteristics will result from the description which follows.

According to the exemplary embodiment shown in Fi to 11, the refrigeration unit according to the invention affects the usual external parallelepiped shape of the oontainel intended for transport by rail or by road.
This container has a sort of external cage materializing its angles and formed of four corner brackets, two lower 1 (Fig. 1, 2), two upper! joined by four vertical angles 5 and four corn: transverse horizontal, two interior 4 (Fig. 2), upper 5. The underside of this carcass is oonsti on the outside, by a series of juxtaposed joists 6 (Figs 1, 2, 8, 10) arranged for example in the lon dinal direction. The four vertical panels of the carcass are each formed by sheets 7 joined together by riveting or otherwise and, preferably, in stainless steel or any other metal or light alloy. The top panel will be described later.
The lower panel as well as each of the four vertical metal panels is reinforced, towards the interior of the body, by a rigid assembly formed by an assembly of squared bars, preferably in wood (or in metal profiles in light resistant alloy) .
Each of these sets has a frame formed of one or more adjoining bars such as 8 (Figo 1 e for the floor), 9 (Fig. 1) for the end panels and 10 for the large panels (Fig, 3) . Each of these c is compartmentalized by a number of longitudinal bars (11 for the floor Fig. 2, 12 for the large purlins Fig. 3, 13 for the small panels, Fie. 1) and cross bars (14 Fig. 1, 15 Fig. 3). The crossings and these various bars are reinforced by any suitable means, for example by cleats 16 (Fig. 3).
In each small compartment thus formed, co @ the corresponding outer wall, is stuffed with a heat-insulated material. Preferably, this material is used under a removable cushion comprising, as shown in Fi to 10, a heat-insulating outer casing 17 consisting p, for example, of kraft paper or other paraffined or oiled meatl l the air. This 17 envelope contains a sufficient

These heat-insulating cushions or other insulating ca fillings are held in place by an internal wall formed for example of contiguous volions such as 19 for the pl (Fiss 1, 2, 8, 9) and 20 for the vertical trans saux panels (Figs 1, 10) fixed to the subdivision bars, the volises are preferably covered with a thin galvanic sheet, such as 21 for the floor (Figs 1, 2, 8 e or 22 for the end panels (Figs 1, 10) , these t8l overlapping at 23 (Fig. 10).
The ceiling (Figs 1, 2, 5,6, 9) has an oad: .24, divided by transverse 25 and longitudinal bars 26 and reinforced by bracing bars 27 fixed: gussets 28 or otherwise. The compartments formed e @ the various bars are filled with heat-insulating cushions: imprisoned between two continuous walls 30 and 31 formed of adjoining battens or metal plates.
The structure of the body is completed pure: a roof - double slope formed by battens 32 (Fig. And a continuous sheet 33 of covering; this roof rests (on bars 34 carried by the ceiling and forms with this ceiling a double wall 35 full of air; battens 36 forming feet; lifting rings 37 fixed to the large bars at the level of the knots reinforced by the gussets 28 of the ceiling, the crosspiece closed by the bars 27 distribute the forces supported by the rings on the whole structure, and rings 38 (Fig. 3).

The inside of the box is divided into three compartments, a large, central one, 39 (Fig 2) intended for reoevoii food or other products to be transported (this compartment carries for this purpose shelves or other suitable supports and two side 40, smaller, intended to receive: water ice, dry ice or any euteotic mixture or other cooling material.
These three comp @ monts are separated over most of their top (by transverse partitions 41 (Fig. 1) athermanes. example in the large panel with door 48.
This opening 56 is provided with a wicket: (Fig. 1) mounted on hinges 58 and bearing against the hardwood en (ment 59 (Figs 7 and 11), also by means of a gasket d 'Sealing 60. This gate, oonstii like the door, is provided with a closing device 61 does not need to be sealed because even if one entered the corresponding compartment 40, the partition 41 and the grille would pocket the access to compartment 39, containing the may dises likely to be stolen.
As can be understood, this container is very rigid owing to the angles 1 to 5 which form a real arxature, the compartmentalization frames and the
27 from the ceiling. However, it is extremely light due to its construction described (its weight is of the order of
50% of that of a usual container of the same volume).
All its outer walls are perfectly heat-insulating and this without a ': cun risk of disturbance in the heat insulation due to the large compartmentalization of this do
This is an essential characteristic of the invention p putting, alone, to ensure the duration of the calorifuceace obtained during construction. Indeed, no brutal handling of the container, no inertia force can allow an overall displacement of the insulation, for example v the bottom of the vertical panels to the detriment of the thermal insulation of the parts which would thus be deprived of heat insulation. .
At the Fie. 12, there is shown a variant of c tainur in which its floor is extended at 62 to 1 'of the ends of the body, so as to receive a cof
63, preferably screened at 64 and open at 65. This oof is intended to contain the motor-compressor 66 of a refrigerant group of any type, replacing the block of glaoe or similar refrigerant of the example used.
