POUPE A ENGRENAGE A HAUTE PRESSION

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

HIGH PRESSURE GEAR DOLL
The present invention relates to a high pressure gear pump which can be used in all industrial applications where it is necessary to obtain a liquid under pressure, in particular as a pressure generator in the hydraulic transmission and for the fuel supply. injectors,
In fact, the use of high hydraulic pressure is taking on greater importance every day in all fields of industry and a vast field of application is opened up by the use of hydraulic transmission.
In aviation, in particular, almost all of the landing gear controls, as well as the pitch variations of the helio, are done using a hydraulic servo motor.
In the field of machine tools, hydraulic transmission is now used on a large scale, it makes it possible to transform the rudder of a motor at constant speed into a variable movement according to a known law and in any direction.
The law of motion can be changed at will during operation with great ease of adjustment, considering that the injection under pressure of the fuel increases the fineness of the spray and, consequently, the efficiency and intensity of the spray. combustion.
In land and naval thermal installations, mechanical injection is exclusively used, the same is true for the supply of fuel to the combustion chambers of turbo-reactors in the field of jet propulsion.
In the field of ohimie, and to cite just one example, the manufacture of artificial silk is carried out by passing the speed under pressure in dies of variable section depending on the size of the thread to be obtained.

The gear pump, object of the present patent, makes it possible to eliminate all the disadvantages caused by the complicated arrangement of the stuffing boxes of the pistons, valves, springs, etc ...
Said pump is capable of rotating at speeds varying from 1,000 to 8,000 rpm, therefore capable of easily adapting to the most varied fields.
In fact, with a view to obtaining high pressure, we have made the following improvements to a conventional pump: - Elimination of excess pressure from the fluids trapped between the gear teeth.
- Elimination of internal leaks by balancing the pinions.
- Elimination of air entering the pump.
Let's take a closer look at these enhancements:
In normal gear pumps, the volume of fluid trapped between the meshing teeth decreases to tang 0 and then increases. However, during the decrease in volume, the pressure of the liquid which, trapped, increases considerably and requests the spacing of the pinions by the bending of the axes.
The thrust on the pinions reaches a few hundred kg cm2 leading to bearing fatigue and tooth wear.
To remedy this drawback, we have made two openings in the side flanges of the pump at a suitable location allowing the fluid trapped between the meshing teeth to escape.
To avoid friction and wear, we have provided a lateral play of a few microns between the pinions and the flanges.
In order to always have the equality of the lateral leaks, we realized an automatic centering of the pinions by the hydraulic way As a result, during operation, if a pinion moves to the left, for example, the left side play decreases, the section of the leak being smaller, the pressure rises and a thrust is exerted on the pinion which tends to move it away from the flange. The equilibrium will be restored when the leaks are equal, and therefore minimal.
To obtain the elimination of the joints between the flanges and to ensure perfect sealing, we rectified and glazed their faces with diamond powder and, after assembly, we brought the device to a temperature of 1500 C. in order to obtain mutual diffusion of metals.

FIG. 2 front view, full scale; FIG. 3 una view, full scale, of the pump side view of the fluid inlet and outlet openings.
The gear pump, object of this patent, consists of a cover (1) provided with ears (2) for assembly by bolts (3)
Two chambers (4) and (4 ') are intended to receive thick washers (5) and bearings (6) and (6').
In the horizontal axis of the pump, two orifices (7) and (8) are provided for the inlet and outlet of the fluid.
A circumferential groove (39) is provided for the recovery of leaks which may occur between the flanges (9) and (10), this groove communicating with the suction.
Two flanges (9) and (10) are provided at the desired height with channels (11) and (12) allowing the fluid trapped between the meshing teeth to escape. A fluid recirculation is created in the pump, a certain quantity of pressurized fluid being taken from the periphery of the pinions through orifices (40).
. Two bores (13) and (14) for the flange (9) and (15) and (16) for the flange (10) are used for the establishment of the drive pins (17) and (18); a housing (19) and (19 ') and (20) and (20') is intended to receive the balancing rings (21) and (22) of the pinions (23) and (24).
These pinions (23) and (24) are not integral with their axis, they are driven by two keys (25) and (26) and can slide from right to left, or vice versa on said olavettes, we can therefore avoid misalignment.
The assembly is held by a casing (27) serving as a spacer between the flanges (9) and (10), the whole fixed on the pump body (28) which has two housings for the roller bearings.
At the rear part of the pump body, a flange (29) provided with holes (30) allows the fixing of said pump.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The rear part of the flange (29) is provided with a housing (31) intended to receive two half-cups (32) and (33); held by a washer (34), a seal (35) comes to rest on said washer.
A ring (36) having a housing (37) is intended to hold the seal (35) in place by means of a spring (38)
The gear pump, the subject of this patent, can be made of various suitable alloys such as phosphor bronze or any other alloy, without altering the very principle of the patent which is characterized by the use of pinions, not integral with their axis, which can slide laterally but which are supported by the axis using a @ key.
