<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

method and device -for the treatment of objects by means of vaporizers of solvents @ It is known to treat and clean by submersion @. vigorous of resolvent vapors, objects in a container filled in the lower part of the boiling resolvent *, such as triohlorinated ethylene, perchlorinated ethylene, carbon tetrachloride, benzine, benzol or the like and provided , dams its upper part, of cooling coils.
Most of the vapors then bounce off the surface of the objects to move upwards towards the refrigerants in the upper part of the container where. they must be rushed.
It results from the movement of the vapor produced in the refrigeration zone by the projection of the vapors of solvents on the objects, a mixture of the air contained therein, in which fear, '.' these reasons diffuse relatively large amounts of solvents. According to this working method, the losses of the solvents increase considerably and it is practically impossible.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
It is possible, among other things to avoid annoying service workers by the vapors of solvents, to leave open the upper part of the scrubber-scrubber, as is generally known for such devices with an upper cooling zone and desirable for the purpose of easy handling.
A simple process has been found, allowing an energetic submersion of the objects by vapors of solvents, without that neither for an open device, nor for a closed device the losses in resolving does not increase and the service workers are not hampered by the aforementioned. vapors. The process according to the invention consists essentially in that the vapors of solvents, such as ethylene trichlorinated, ethylene perchlorinated, carbon tetrachloride, benzine, benzol and the like, submerging the objects in the up and down direction. are eliminated as soon as they arrive below. This, in this case, is achieved by the fact that the vapors are precipitated by cooling means, for example bill hooks, to be subsequently recovered by cooling or absorption.
It is also possible to circulate the steam escaping from below in a closed circuit, by making it enter from above into the scrubber-purifier. The solvents vapors precipitating inside the scrubber, from which the condensed product flows dropwise, it is necessary to bring fresh vapor from the solvents and possibly heat to the circuit.
The devices for carrying out the method can be opened at the top, the device being loaded from above. In this case, the steam is introduced below the upper edge, advantageously using nozzles directed downwards.
The vapors submerge the objects without forming any vortices and are condensed at the bottom of the container or are sucked out. It is still possible to use closed devices which are loaded laterally. These have the advantage of being able to be loaded and unloaded, without changing the level of the objects to be processed. In this way, especially in the presence of very heavy objects, the necessary lifting devices are superfluous; in addition, the work itself is accelerated and suppressed. After the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
treatment, the objects are brought into a chamber, in which they are freed from residues of solvents and of solvents vapors which adhere to them. This in this case is obtained by refrigeration below the objects and / or by suction of the vapors.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example and diagrammatically, an embodiment for carrying out the process according to the invention.
A boiler 1 heated below and provided at the top with a reflux condenser 13 is in communication by means of a pipe 2 with the purification chamber 3. A valve 12, making it possible to close either pipe 2, or else the reflux condenser 13, is provided inside the pipe 2. The bottom of the chamber 3 carries a grid 4, on which rests the material to be purified 5. A cooling coil 6 is placed below the grid 4 The chamber 3 is closed at the bottom and is provided with a discharge opening for the liquid passing through the siphon 7 in the direction of the boiler 1.
The bottom of the chamber 8, separated from the purification chamber 3 by a drawer 9, also carries a grid 4, on which are placed the material to be purified and cooling coils 6, from which the solvents flow to the siphon 7 on the floor inclined in the direction of said siphon. The chamber 8 can be provided with a discharge pipe 10; it is closed by drawer 11.
The device operates in the following way.
The material to be purified 5 is introduced into the chamber 3 and the reflux condenser 13 is closed by the valve 12; then, the material is submerged from above by resolving * arriving m through the pipe 2. These are condensed under the material to be purified in contact with the cooling coils 6 and from there they drop onto the floor. of the chamber, in order to flow over it through the siphon 7 into the boiler 1, At the end of the purification, following the reversal of the valve 12, the steam supply line 2 is closed , so that the vapors can enter the reflux condenser 13 where they are condensed. The condensate flows into the boiler.
Then, the material to be purified is brought into chamber 8 where it

can dry out. The vapors oondense against the refrigerant 6; a part can also be evacuated by the pipe 10. It is also possible to connect several chambers 8 to a single purification chamber 3, in order to increase the efficiency of the device.
