<EMI ID=2.1>

Push-in pen with two mechanical clamps.
The present invention relates to a pusher stylomine with two. mechanical clamps moved longitudinally by a mine reservoir provided inside the casing under the action of a spring and arranged in counter-direction, the first of the said clamps being housed in the orifice of the point and the second collaborating with a socket displaced from. Tightening.
According to the invention, the two mechanical clamps are rigidly connected, preferably in such a way that they are formed by the end. front respectively rear of a common tube guiding the leads between the two clamps. In the tip of the stylomine, a brake device, engaging in the lockmine tube and. marrying the mine under friction, is permanently mounted so as to constitute at the same time the front stop for the clamp.
The clamps are formed by the ends of the. Mechanical pencil split and roughened inside in a known manner, these ends being conically reinforced in order to obtain the clamping of the lead. The tightening of the front clamp is obtained by
the retraction of the mechanical clamp into the orifice of the point; for tightening the rear clamp on the other hand, a clamping sleeve is provided for the action of the recoil spring of the mine tank. This clamping sleeve is preferably permanently connected. To a cleat of the mine tank serving as guide tube for the mines it envelops the rear clamp under friction, so that it drives the mechanical clamp during the advance until that this one is stopped by its stop before; then, if the advance of the mine tank continues, the clamping sleeve, as a result of the impact of the front end of its cleat against the front end of the rear mechanical clamp, is released from the clamp and in this way the tightening stops.
The sleeve-shaped brake device may include two or more suitably curved tongues which, through two juxtaposed notches of the mechanical clamp, grip the lead under friction.
As a result of said arrangement and execution of the parts, the manufacture as well as the assembly of the push-type pens are appreciably simplified. At the same time, the number of faults and sources of disturbance is reduced and the mine is better held and guided to pipe than hitherto.
The accompanying drawing shows by way of example an embodiment of the stylomine forming the subject of the present invention.
Fig.l shows the stylomine in the writing position, while Figs.2 and 3 show different positions of the mechanism during the advance of the lead.

the mine tank 3, closed by the pusher 2, can be moved against the effect of the recoil spring 4. The lug 5, serving as a mechanical pencil and connecting to the front end of the mine tank, is wrapped by a bush 6 fixed therein, with an internal bore showing a slight conical narrowing 7 slightly before its front end. The. recoil spring 4 envelops the sleeve 6, resting its rear end against the bottom of the mine tank and its front end against a heel 8 of the

veloppe :, The rear clamp 9 of the mechanical clamp 10 arranged inside the sleeve 6 is split longitudinally and its taper corresponds exactly to the conical narrowing of the internal bore 7 of the sleeve 6; in this way, the socket can exactly match the said clamp and tighten it against the lead. In the central cylindrical part of the mine clamp 10, two juxtaposed notches, forming a window, are arranged so as to release the internal bore, so that a mine housed therein can be gripped by the brake device.
The front clamp 12 of the mechanical pencil is also provided with slots and conically reinforced at its front end so that it can only be pushed into the hole of the tip when empty. on the other hand, after the introduction of a lead, it moves away as it is stopped by the orifice of the point and prevented from being introduced inside this orifice. The part 13 of the point is screwed on the front end of the casing 1 or on the connection sleeve 14. Inside the connection sleeve 14 is, permanently fixed there, the brake sleeve
15, ending in two tongues 16 gripping the lead through the windows 11. Both the brake sleeve 15 and the lock nut 10 carry stops 17 and 18, limiting the movement of said mechanical clamp.
The stylomine works as follows:
By pressing the pusher 2, the tank 3 with its stopper. 5, serving as a guide tube for the lead, and the sleeve 6 are advanced against the action of the spring 4. The lead 10 is driven in this movement as a result of the clamping of its rear clamp 9 in the tapered bore 7 of the socket 6. The front clamp 12 simultaneously exits the hole in the casing and opens.
mine clamped in the rear clamp 9 is advanced by the brake 16 under a slight friction. As soon as the stop 17 of the mechanical clamp comes into contact with the stop 18 of the brake sleeve 15, the mechanical clamp is retained and the sleeve 6 advances slightly, until the front end of the stopper 5 comes into contact with the rear end of the clamp 9. During this new advance, the bore 7 of the sleeve is released from the clamp 9, which opens and releases the mine. As soon as the pressure on the pusher 2 is released, the spring 4 returns the parts. During this retreat, the mine is first released from the two clamps 9 and 12 and is held in its position by the brake 16, while the clamps are retracted. Consequently, it undergoes a relative movement with respect to the clamps.
As soon as the reinforced part of the front clamp 12 has entered the orifice of the tip 13, this clamp closes and stops the mine. The clamp itself being prevented from moving further back, the sleeve 6 continues its backward movement with the mine tank and it presses the rear clamp 9 on the mine. Therefore, the mine comes out
of the tip an equal amount in advance and the pen is ready to write.
