<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

High voltage linear contact disconnectors
The present invention relates to seotionners, and more especially to low and high voltage isolation switches.
The currently known seotionneurs have, in general, two terminals formed of two curved blades springing and between which the knife engages.
After some use, the contacts quickly lose their elasticity; moreover, a deposit of dust can form between the two blades and the contact with the knife which is made on two surfaces is made very bad.
On the other hand, as a result of the increasingly high currents used in the installations, the short-circuit currents increase the electro-dynamic forces imposed on the separators usually used, which produces. disturbances. During a short-circuit, for example, it is known that these types of seotionneurs have little security due to untimely openings.
The object of the present invention is to obviate these drawbacks while making it possible to produce a robust disconnector with a very simple construction. Another advantage is
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
in that the contacts according to the invention are cleaned by simply opening or closing the disconnector, making the latter insensitive to dust and other deposits.
In high voltage disconnectors, depending on the in-
EMI2.1
vent ion, two bonna terminals:;, oonductrioe:> fixed5 and rigid5 are for- forming a hinge terminal adorned with. suitably folded plates and two parallel knives pivoting at one end, the other ends being able to contact the side edges of the other terminal.
The contacting terminal can be formed of a curved flat on the outer sides of which press the inner sides of two knives.
A terminal coming from two flats can form a bearing for an axis on which two knives pivot, by one of their ends, pressed on the sides of the bearing by spring-forming means, the remaining free ends of the knives being held. at minimum spacing by a bush mounted on a shaft as well as means forming a spring and pressing the inner sides of the knives on the outer sides of the fixed and rigid terminal, a kings the disconnector engaged with a high specific pressure.
The specific pressure can be given by elastic washers, springs, or the like.
In the accompanying drawing is shown, by way of example, an embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 1 shows, in elevation, a disconnector according to the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view along 1-1 of FIG. 1.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, are fixed on a base 1, by the base, two insulators 2-21 at a distance from axis to axis calculated according to the operating voltage of the disconnector.
On the cap ae the insulator 2, is maintained, by bolts or other known means, a fixed and rigid terminal 4.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Terminal 4 is formed of a flat copper, nickel-plated or cadmium-plated, preferably matt, one end of which is curved upwards, while the end which remains free is perforated for fixing by bolt 5 of the line.
The insulator 21 carries, fixed on its cap, the second terminal formed by two curved plates 6-61 constituting a bearing for an axis 7.
On the axis 7 are mounted two knives 8-81 arranged parallel and pressed on the sides of the bearing, for example by elastic metal washers 9. The knives 8-81 are kept apart, at the free ends, by a bush. 10 acting as a spacer and mounted on a pin 71; the knives are pressed against this bush, for example by metallic and elastic washers 9 mounted on the axis 71.
By means of an insulating pole, the knives 8-81 are rotated which, from their inside, come into contact with the sides of the terminal, and are strongly pressed there by the effect of the metal and elastic washers 9 (see the position of the blades in phantom).
Two linear contacts are thus established.
The high specific pressure of the contact surfaces produced by washers 9 has the advantage of facilitating the passage of current. However, the contact pressure, for very high currents, can be achieved by coil springs, for example housed in protective covers.
In some cases, it may be advantageous to provide the knives in the extension of the ends of the line; the axis of the knives will be, for this purpose, lowered and it is understood that, according to the necessities, it is not necessary that the terminal 4 be bent upwards, but that it can perfectly be bent towards down or any other useful position.
In the drawing, we have represented a unipo-

lar, but the invention also relates to all types of seotionners, bi or ripolar, the control, in these latter cases, being generally unique.
The invention has been described and illustrated for purely indicative and in no way limiting, and it goes without saying that very many modifications can be made to its details, without departing from its spirit.
