Avion.

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Performances aériennes améliorées par le changement de vitesse et la position du propulseur;
Envol, atterrissage, évolutions au sol, améliorés par le changement de vitesse et le train;

Plane.
The object of the present invention is an aircraft capable of being able to operate practically in all terrains: autonomous locomotion on the road, take-offs and returns to areas of small dimensions not specially adapted.
To give the airplane this quality in which various parts of the aircraft are concerned, the following provision is adopted:
The engine has a speed change transmission - which may also include a clutch, port point, brake - and can be applied in whole or in part, either to the air thruster,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
simple or. multiple, placed as much as possible, not in front of or. behind the fuselage (or a nacelle), but in a median position, by notching the streamlined body which has suitable profiles in this vicinity, ie at. train, composed if possible of two wheels or groups of wheels - which can be driven, steered, liftable, with elastic support, brakeable - placed in tandem and completed by a skid - single axial or.
composed, this assembly-train being placed as close as possible to the "belly" of the aircraft. (A device is possibly provided for lateral balance at rest or at low speed).
To ensure the stability of the trajectory in the vicinity of the. ground, the ailerons and flaps of lifting or stabilizing surfaces, or the entire surfaces, are resiliently mounted.
In certain cases (sufficiently light devices, for example) this device can be reduced to an assembly (which can be folded up, for example) comprising all or. part of the propulsion mechanism, steering, road braking.
In some cases, too, the landing chase may be of a normal type or. the wheels are replaced by faired landing pads where. the wheels retract.
Figs. la and lb show a non-limiting example of the assembly of the. device.
The engine 1 transmits its power by means of a speed change transmission 2, or to a propeller 3 embedded in the middle part of the. fuselage 4, either with a lifting wheel, driving and braking, 5, completed by a front steering wheel 6 and a central shoe 7, the @

everything placed just under the "belly" 8 of the fuselage 4. Retractable casters 9 ensure lateral balance at rest.
Figs. 2 and 3 show a possible, non-limiting arrangement of a flap (ioi, a fin) mounted and elastically controlled.
The control tube 10, connected to the handle 11, transmits its rotational movement to the axis 12 of the fin by means of an elastic or semi-elastic sleeve 14. This elastic connection can be made rigid by a lock 15 controlled from the handle 11 by a bowden "16-17. It can also be provided with a brake to give variable elasticity.
Fig. 4 represents a non-limiting example of a simplified on-road propulsion variant: an airplane comprises a lifting and orientable assembly composed in particular of a wheel 18 provided with brakes and a motor unit 19. non-limiting
Fig. 5 shows an example / of a simplified variant of the landing gear: a normal gear 20 comprises, instead of single wheels, arenated landing skids 21 where one or more wheels 22 can be retracted.
It is moreover evident that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments shown or described which may exhibit various modifications without thereby departing from the spirit or the scope of the invention.
On the other hand, the different parts of these devices can be applied together or separately, in whole or in part - the principles of these devices can also be applied to the operation of a seaplane or an amphibian,
On the other hand, while contributing to the stated goal, these devices also have the following advantages: @
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Air performance improved by gear change and thruster position;
Flight, landing, ground evolutions, improved by gear change and gear;
Safety and comfort improved by the elastically mounted flaps and the protected propeller.
