<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Vehicle, in particular railway vehicle".
The invention relates to a vehicle, a rail vehicle more particularly, the frame of which rests on two bearing ball joints carried by bogies and the center of oscillation of which is located higher than the center of gravity of the assembly oonstituted. by the oadre and the cash register.
Vehicles were already known in which the body which extends almost to the rails is suspended pendularly between the axles. However, such vehicles have given rise to
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
so different from the usual type of railway vehicles that nothing could be found relating to their practical interest and even less relating to their further development, although this idea is already old. For particular applications, in particular in the case of wagons with a lowered platform, it is known practice to arrange the axles in front and behind the platform. However, such a wagon can only circulate in isolation.
Finally, a frame wagon is also known comprising a central pulling and pushing device. This latter type of wagon has, however, several support members so that it lacks the possibility of oscillating pendulum required by the invention.
According to the invention, the bearing ball joints carried by the bogies oonstituent the only supporting connection between the frame and the bogies. These ball joints are placed inside the contour of the body.
According to an improvement of the invention, the oadre. consists essentially of a central beam located in the median longitudinal plane of the vehicle and in which the upper end of each ball joint fits. This new suspension makes it possible for the first time to suspend in a pendular manner vehicles, in particular rail vehicles, whose external dimensions and other main dimensions correspond to the usual standards. All forces due to own weight, traction, impact, etc. are exerted in a single plane, namely the vertical median plane. There is no longer a tendency to wiggle.
The center of gravity of the whole of the upper part suspended pendularly, o is- @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
that is to say of the frame and the body, is located lower than the line joining the points of support between them.
As a result, when passing curves, the suspended upper part tilts itself according to the speed of the moment.
Shocks, jolts, etc. which occur outside the median longitudinal plane can no longer act on the suspended part of the vehicle. In addition, the position of the center of gravity with respect to the straight line joining the support points makes it possible to pass any curve whatsoever at any speed occurring in practice, regardless of the fact that the track does not present any curvature. cant or that the cant is too weak or too strong.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention applied in this case to a four-axle railway vehicle.
In this drawing: fig. 1 is a side view with partial section; fig. 2 is the corresponding plan view; fig 3 is a partial section along line A-B of fig 1; fig. 4 shows the vehicle cut along A-B and seen in the direction of travel when passing a curve to the right.
1, 2, 3 and 4 denote the axles of bogies 12 and 13 which have not been shown in detail.
Each of these loss bogies, in the usual manner for ball joints 5, 6, On each of these ball joints 5 and 6
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
rests the bottom of the cups 14 ,, 15 of a beam 7 in the form of a beam. This beam carries, in front and behind, a central buffer 8, 9 and it is swelled at the locations of the pivots to receive the cuvettes. The body 11 rests in the known manner on sleepers 10.
