Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   REVENDICATIONS.

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

  Coating material.

   It has already been proposed to produce coating materials by the agglomeration of a mixture of magnesia, magnesium chloride and a filler material such as wood fiber.

   These coating materials, which offer the great advantage of being light, however, have the serious drawback of having a too restricted elastic limit compared to its coefficient of expansion or contraction, which gives rise to cracks which considerably reduce the strength of the coating.

   To remedy this drawback, the invention provides for embedding within the constituent materials of this coating material a reinforcement which opposes its deformation. This reinforcement, which will offer great tensile strength, will reduce the coefficient of expansion of the parquet so as to bring it back below its elastic limit.

   The invention also provides for constituting said material by the superposition of two layers of materials' as specified above having undergone different preparations and between which is embedded the aforesaid reinforcement.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The appended drawing indicates by way of nonlimiting example an embodiment of the invention. This extends to the various original features included in the arrangement shown.

   The figure is a perspective view in partial section of the coating material according to the invention.

   According to the figure, the coating material according to the invention comprises a base layer 2 formed by the agglomeration of a mixture of magnesia, magnesic chloride, and a filler material such as, for example, fiber. of wood, and a top layer 3 possibly colored according to the decoration which is desired to be obtained and which can be made up of the same elements as the base layer in a state of possibly greater fineness to obtain a finer grain.

   In order to prevent this building material from giving rise to undesirable cracks, the invention has provided for embedding between the aforesaid two layers a metal or other frame 4 which opposes the aforementioned deformations.

   It goes without saying that the coating material according to the invention can for example be produced in the form of tiles and that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described but extends to any embodiment, for example to any material of coating liable to crack under the influence of external action, and in general to any embodiment falling within the spirit or scope of the following claims.
