<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"GLAZING WITHOUT MASTIC" Ceet invention relates to a system for laying 'liters on metal supports, without the use of mastic.
According to the invention:, the support irons of the windows are profiled irons, angles or tees, commonly called merchant irons, to the exclusion of all special irons.
2.-The seals are made by strips of rolled lead, suitably arranged to the exclusion of any other sealant.
3.-The maintenance of the panes on the metal supports is ensured by the gentle pressure exerted by metal strips, fixed by bolts to the profiled irons.
The system presented has the main advantages: IO.-compared to the usual methods of placing panes with mastic, of being more durable, of requiring less maintenance., Of reducing the causes of glass breakage by allowing movement windows due to expansion.
2.-Compared to the known methods of placing panes without mastic, to use only commercial rolled irons, such as angles or t-irons, as supports, and not special profiled irons manufactured solely for this use, of make the gasket by means of simple strips of rolled lead placed judiciously on the metal supports, and of these two facts to be able to be used for the replacement of existing mastic joints by joints
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
without sealant without requiring the replacement of existing panes or supports.
The accompanying drawings represent two examples of execution of glazing according to the system described, object of the invention.
1 - Figure 1 shows the mode of fixing a single glazing. The iron A is an ordinary tee iron, serving as a support.
Part B is a first strip of rolled lead placed on iron A to form a lower seal; the edges C have been curved into beads in order to form a seat for the panes D. Part E is a second strip of rolled lead laid on the assembly and covering the edges of the panes to form the upper seal. Part F is a metal tab fixed by the bolt G to prevent lifting of the panes.
2.-Figure 2 shows the method of fixing, according to the same system, a double glazing. The elements composing it are the same as those described for figure I and are represented respectively by the same letters. The parts H do not are only spacers, could be any, separating two windows D.
Summary.
This invention relates to a system for installing windows on metal supports characterized by the fact that these metal supports are ordinary merchant irons, angles or tees, excluding special profiles, that the seals are made by laminated lead strips judiciously placed on these support irons excluding any other special product and that the fixing of the glasses is ensured, by the gentle pressure of metal strips themselves fixed to the support irons by bolts.
