<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Rotating frame with locking device.
With rotating frames in which at least one of the pivots, mounted on opposite sides of the frame, is provided with a box-shaped member with a locking device, the disadvantage is that due to the construction of the frame. locking device, the frame can only be placed in a limited number of positions,
The object of the invention is to improve this locking device so that the frame can be locked in any desired intermediate position.
For this purpose, according to the invention, the blocking device consists of a stop rotatably mounted in the half of the box, fixed to the fixed cross of the frame which stop is tightened by its own weight or by the action of a spring. , on the in- wall

of the box half fixed to the rotating part of the frame, this half of the box being provided with stops for bringing in or out of the action of the stop. Optionally, a locking device can be provided for stopping.
In order to better illustrate the invention, hereinafter is described with reference to the drawings an embodiment of the locking device for a tilting frame and for a swivel frame.
Fig.l is a view of a rocking frame with blocking devices shown schematically.
Fig.2 is a half view of the balte, attached to the rotating part of the frame, with the rocker frame in the partially open position.
Fig.3 is a similar view of the fully open frame.
Fig.- is a similar view of the completely closed chassis.
Fig.5 is a cross section through the locking device.
Fig.6 is a view of a pivoting frame with blocking devices shown schematically.
Fig.7 is a view corresponding to Fig.2, of the locking device provided for a pivoting frame.
According to Fige. 1 to 5, around a pivot 1 of the rocking frame is mounted a box-shaped member, half 2 of which is fixed to the fixed cross 3 of the frame and half 4 to the rotating part 5 of the frame. Half 2 of the box has a pin 6 around which a stop 7 is rotatably mounted. The preferably notched edge 8 of this stop cooperates with the inner edge of half 4 of the box.
When, as in Fig. 2, the tilting frame is in a partially open position, the stop 7, the center of gravity of which, in this position, is to the left of its point of support, rests by its edge against the inner edge
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of half 4 of the box, If we act to close the rocking frame, therefore to rotate it in the direction of arrow A, the stop will tighten even more strongly against the inner edge of half 4 of the box and therefore make it impossible to move the tilting frame in the direction of arrow A,
Since the stop does not oppose the movement of the rocking frame in the direction of arrow B,
the frame can easily be brought into the fully open position (Fig. 3) When this position is reached, the stop 7 is moved by a stop 9 fixed on the inner edge of the half 4 of the box, to so that the center of gravity of the stop comes to the right of its point of support and that the stop in this inactive position rests on the pivot 1.
After stop 7 has been put out of action in this way, the rocking frame can be closed (Fig. 4) When reaching the closed position, stop 7 is pushed back into the operative position. by a stopper 10 mounted on the inner edge of half 4 of the box. The partially open frame can therefore only be closed after it has been fully opened beforehand to put the stop 7 out of action.
If it is necessary to prevent the partially open frame being able to be opened more without more, it is possible to provide one of the halves of the box with a locking device for the stop 7. According to Fig.5, it is mounted. in half 2 of the box a screw 12 provided with a four-sided head 11. The conical end of this screw cooperates with a corresponding hole in the stopper 7 so that by tightening the screw 12 and consequently inserting the conical end into the hole in the stopper, the latter is pushed a little. sideways and even more strongly against the inner edge of half 4 of the box.
By placing a protective cap around the screw, it can be completely hidden from view, which is im-
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
wearing for application in insane homes, prisons and the like. The screw can be moved using a wrench.
Figs. 6 and 7 relate to a pivoting frame and to a locking device to be applied to it.
As in a swiveling frame, the stop 7 rotates around a vertical spindle 6, it is not possible to use the own weight of the stop 7 for the maintenance in and out of action of the latter. In order, however, to obtain a good job of the locking device, a spring 13 is attached to the stop 7, which spring is fixed by its other end to a pin 14 mounted on the fixed half 3 of the box. The stop 7 is thus continuously maintained in the operating position by the spring 13.
In order to prevent the stopping from constituting an obstacle to this movement when the fully open frame is closed, provisional precautions can be taken to put the stop 7 out of action by the stop 9. To this end, the spindle 6 around which the stopper turns can be completely covered with a screw thread. When the stop 7 is pushed out by the stop 9, the stop can then, using this screw thread, be blocked on half 3 of the box, in the inactive position, until the 'stop is released by the stop 10 and can return to the working position. This disabling of the stop 7 can however also be carried out in any other way.
