<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

"Advanced fusible bolts"
The object of the present invention is an improvement in the fusible bolts used in steam boilers, as required by article 26 of the general regulations on steam appliances, royal decree of March 28, 1919, and applicable from elsewhere in general on all devices containing a liquid to be left at a certain temperature.
Generally, these fusible bolts contain the same lead, but it has been observed that the lead is generally quickly dissolved and eaten away by certain waters and that there follows inopportune shutdowns of the boiler and the inventive problem exists. therefore to seek a metallic material offering better resistance to the oorrosive action of water while retaining the same fusibility properties as lead.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the applicant has found that cad @ ium meets the various conditions and can therefore advantageously replace lead in fusible bolts and pellets.
By way of example, the appended drawing shows in axial section a fusible bolt whose core a is made of cadmium. By replacing lead with cadmium, we therefore obtain an industrial supply much more resistant and ensuring the same level of safety as the old fuses and whose service life largely compensates for the higher price than the other materials used up to now.
