<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Si l'on supplée à l'absence ou à l'insuffisance de la force externe du vent qui agit sur l'avion par une force interne capable de produire un courant d'air soufflant violement sur les ailes, non seulement il décollera, et volera tant que ce vent factice agira, mais il pourra s'élever et descendre ver- ticalement et même se maintenir sur place, si l'on règle conve- nablement ;

SCUFFLANT WINGS FOR FLYING MACHINES
The object of the present invention is to create on the back of the wings of an airplane a zone of depression favorable to the increase in lift and, under the lift planes and the control surfaces, a powerful relative wind capable of 'remove said aircraft and keep it in the air, in place, without the use of the external force of the ambient wind or of the aircraft's own speed.
In gliding flight, without an engine, it is the external force of the wind that lifts and supports the airplane in the air. As soon as the wind stops, the glider is unable to lift itself off the ground or to maintain itself on its own; it can no longer fly,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
If we compensate for the absence or insufficiency of the external force of the wind which acts on the airplane by an internal force capable of producing a current of air blowing violently on the wings, not only will it take off, and will fly as long as this artificial wind acts, but it will be able to rise and fall vertically and even remain in place, if we regulate properly;
the power and speed of the breath needed to keep it in that position.
The invention consists precisely in installing inside an airplane or any other flying machine whatever the principle, a wind tunnel actuated by the own engine of this aerial device, so as to obtain a air current capable of sustaining and steering the flying machine by blowing on its lift elements and control surfaces or of activating the speed of rotation of the lift propellers of a helicopter by blowing on them.
This invention can therefore be applied to all flying machines whatever their formula and by means of all devices capable of producing the blast effects appropriate to the results to be obtained,
By way of example, the invention is represented by the accompanying drawings, applied @ a tandem multiplane airplane with natural stability, such as that which is the subject of French patent N 568.178 of June 2, 1923, it being understood that this example is given without any limiting nature.

Fig. 2 is a plan view.
Fig 3 is a side view,
Fig. 4 is the cross section, on a larger scale, of a blower wing,
Fig. 5 is a cross section of the central blower surface.

With reference to the appended drawing, aa are the lateral bearing surfaces of the front of a multiplane airplane of the above-mentioned type and bb the warping ailerons. C is the neutral bi-convex surface, that is to say without bearing, which connects the aforesaid two lateral surfaces and in the wake of which is arranged the central bearing surface of

These fans jj suck in the outside air and push it back through the ducts kk under suitable pressure into the side wings which for this purpose have, between the struts ¯DU, watertight longitudinal compartments or tubes, m which extend over the entire length of the side surfaces, Of course the internal walls of said wings are suitably reinforced and consolidated by means of a construction suitable for the proper functioning of the air currents passing through the tubes. When the fans are not running, the blades ci lower and the wings take on the appearance of ordinary wings.
On the other hand, below these wings, p tubes fixed to the leading edge, blow the air obliquely from bottom to top under the intra-back of the wings and under the warping ailerons, thus creating the current of air intended for. compensate for the absence or insufficiency of ambient outside wind or relative produced

by the speed of the aircraft, .The central plane c with symmetrical profile provided with a deflector flap comprises, above and below, qq nozzles which blow air on the rear wing and the tail .
The deflector adjustment makes it possible to properly orient the air flow sent to the rear wing in order to obtain a good adjustment of the longitudinal stability at the same time as the optimum lift of this wing,
Under these conditions, a tandem multiplane aircraft, for example equipped with a 100 HP engine which can fly at idle speed at 50 kilometers with a power reduced to 35 HP will take off, fly and land on site if the fans are activated using the 100 Engine CV to create a high speed blowing air current on all airfoils and aircraft control surfaces,
As stated at the start, the application which has just been described with reference to the appended drawings is given only by way of example,
but the characteristics of the invention are applicable to any type of flying machine with the provision of appropriate details. it is moreover of course understood that the present description, as well as the indications of the drawing, have no other aim than to specify the characteristics of the invention, and that the latter is susceptible of all variants not excluding not said characteristics.
