 EMI1.1
 i,q1 Jules,Justin,Edouard,Louis,
B I S E N I U S, domicilié à U c c 1 e,   503,Rue Vanderkindere.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   PATENT OF INVENTION relating to RATIONNALI-
SATION LAMPS MANUFACTURING
ELECTRICAL with two spiraled FILAMENTS burning in VACUUM or in ATMOS-
PHERE gas and say: "DOUBLE LIFE LAMPS" requested by Mr
 EMI1.1
 i, q1 Jules, Justin, Edouard, Louis,
B I S E N I U S, domiciled at U c c 1 e, 503, Rue Vanderkindere.

    @ The present invention relates to:
I.- THE REMOVAL a) -special sockets and caps; b) - delicate manipulations inherent in these special sockets and caps which, until now, the lamps 4 two filaments deny being able to achieve their really practical realization.

   II.- the REPLACEMENT of these special sockets and bases by standard sockets and bases, with one or two studs, normal Edison screws or Goliath screws, which entails, ipso facto, the elimination of any handling, once the lamp is fixed in its socket.

   Thus, the principle of the manufacture of double-life lamps does not differ from that which governs the manufacture of ordinary lamps with a spiral filament burning in a vacuum or in a gaseous atmosphere:, except by the in- troduction, in the bulb, of a third electrode and a second filament as indicated in the figure, attached.

   The filaments a and b are of the same diameter and of the same composition; they are spiraled on the same core and at the same pitch; they are the same length.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   It is expressly recommended not to resort to continuous spiraling; on the contrary, it is necessary to stick to the spiraling with spacing, the spacing between the two filaments are pinched, in its middle part, at the point of contact. D of electrode A.

   The ends of the spirals a and b will be clamped respectively at the contact points E and F of the electrodes B and c.

   The electrodes B and C are joined to the contact pad P, while the electrode A is attached to the pad Q.

   It is recommended to isolate the electrodes B and C between the internal part of the vitrite V of the base and the upper part of the pinch K, by inserting one of them into a glass tube of suitable diameter and of a length equal to kv.

  SUMMARY.-
In short, the lamp thus constructed being connected to the current, the two filaments a and b become incandescent; the incandescence in b disappears almost immediately and only subsists in a.
