<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
7,,sous l'action d'un ressort 8 convenablement établi, sur la came 5 ;
par un excentrique 9 dans lequel. est monté 1''arbre 1 et muni d'une queue 10; par un moyen propre à.permettre de transmettre, à un certain moment du fonctionnement dumétier, le mouvement de l'arbre à came dudit métier, à la came 5 pour lui faire oc- cuper des positions angulaires déterminées et cela quelle que soit la position angulaire qu'occupe à ce moment le le- vier 3 par rapport à l'axe de l'arbre 2, lequel moyen peut être constitué par exemple par un jeu de leviers tels. que 11 et 12, etc., articulés, entre eux et reliant l'arbre 4 audit arbre à carnée du métier;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

"Improvements: brought to the rectilinear knitting looms producing diminished articles".
The invention relates to rectilinear hosiery looms producing reduced articles.
Its aim is above all to make these trades such that their punching, during the setting, transfer and re-meshing movements is obtained in a better way than hitherto.
EMI1.1
It consists, prmaipement, faixe- nomprendre, trades of the kind in question un- device such that it allows to obtain, by mechanical means, normal positions of punches with respect to. needles during the. movements, prede transfer and re-meshing ,, this has-years to resort to the deformations currently subjected to said needles and punches.
It consists, apart from this provision

main, in certain other arrangements which are used
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
preferably at the same time and of which it will be discussed more explicitly below.
It relates more particularly to certain embodiments of said arrangements; and it also targets more particularly, and this as new industrial products, the trades of the type in question involving the application of these same provisions, the special elements and tools specific to their establishment, as well as the installations comprising similar trades ..
And it can, in any event, be clearly understood with the aid of the description supplement which follows, as well as the appended drawing, which supplement and drawing are, of course, given above all by way of indication.
The single figure included in this drawing shows, in partial and schematic vertical section, a rectilinear hosiery loom producing reduced articles and made in accordance with the invention.
According to the invention, and more especially according to those embodiments of its various parts to which it seems that preference should be given, proposing to establish a rectilinear knitted loom producing articles. reduced, we do it as follows, or analogously.
Regarding the job itself - except for the punching device to make him understand - it is established as usual.
As regards said device, it is constituted: by a shaft 1 to which the punch-holder bar is connected; by a shaft 2, parallel to the previous one, of invariable axis position and on which is mounted one of the ends of a lever 3, the other end of which carries the shaft 1 mounted there idle, a lever capable of taking , relative to the shaft 2, different angular positions; @
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
by a shaft 4, parallel to the previous ones, carried by the lever 3 and capable of rotating with respect to this lever, which shaft 4 carries, wedged therein, a cam 5; by a lever 6 such that one of its ends is fixed to the shaft 1 and that its other end 'comes to apply, preferably by means of a. pebble
7, under the action of a spring 8 suitably established, on the cam 5;
by an eccentric 9 in which. is mounted 1''shaft 1 and provided with a shank 10; by means suitable for allowing the movement of the camshaft of said loom to be transmitted, at a certain point in the operation of the profession, to the cam 5 in order to make it occupy determined angular positions and this whatever the position. angular which the lever 3 occupies at this moment with respect to the axis of the shaft 2, which means can be constituted for example by a set of levers such. that 11 and 12, etc., articulated, between them and connecting the shaft 4 to said meat tree of the trade;
and by means suitable for making it possible to transmit, at a certain point in the operation of the loom, the movement of the tree to. cams of said loom, to the eccentric 9 to make it occupy determined angular positions relative to the shaft 1, which means may be constituted, for example, by a set of levers such as 13 and 14, etc., ar- interconnected suitably connected to said camshaft of the loom and the lever 13 of which is, moreover, articulated by means of an axis 15 parallel to said shaft 1, to the tail 10 of said eccentric.
The device being thus constituted and assembled as appropriate, it will be understood that, if the whole is judiciously established, the position of the punch holder bar, and consequently the position of these punches during work, is a function of of three movements:
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
o @ cillation of said bar relative to the shaft 1, communicated by the cam 5 and the lever 6; oscillation of said bar around the axis of shaft 2, communicated by lever 3; and displacement of said bar determined by the movement of the eccentric 9.
The result of such a combination of movements makes it possible to obtain automatically, for the punches, all the positions necessary to obtain a good punching without having to intervene only the elasticity of the punches and of the needles.
As a result, a loom is obtained comprising a mechanical device making it possible to obtain. narmal positions of the punches. in relation to the needles during the setting, transfer and re-meshing movements, thus ensuring perfect punching, unlike what occurs with ordinary straight looms of the same known type. hitherto, for which the shaft on which are fixed the supports of the punch-holder bar is wedged on leviera ocating around a crazy tree, consequently the punches, occupying a well determined position in relation to this shaft and the jaws of these punches moving concentrically around said shaft during punching.
In this ordinary loom, when stitches are taken, the nose of the punch enters the eye of the needle and, during re-meshing, the eye of the punch covers the nose of the needle, the contrary movements of the punch are currently only obtained by the elasticity of the needle and the punch and by an empirical inclination of the punch bars.
As it goes without saying, and as it is already evident. of the foregoing, the invention is in no way limited to ,. those of the embodiments of its various parts having been more especially indicated; she kisses some, at @
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
on the contrary, all the variants, especially those where the eccentric. 9 would have gone up, no. on the shaft 1 punch-holder, but on the idle shaft 2.
