This patent describes a comb comprising a first row of teeth and a second row of teeth, the teeth of the second row of teeth being spaced more narrowly than the first row of teeth.

The international patent application published under number WO 2008/007055 Al, on behalf of Pabari, Alpa, Shantilal, and Pabari, Hiten, Shantilal, on January 17, 2008 as well as the European patent published on December 4, 2013 under number EP 2 046 160 Bl on behalf of the same people, describes a comb with 3 rows of teeth. Since the combs currently on the market, as well as the combs described in the aforementioned patents, do not meet the needs of the users, the aim of the present inventors was to design an improved lice comb which makes it possible to eliminate lice as effectively as possible. nits on any type of hair.

Detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the invention.

The comb according to the invention is used to detect and / or eliminate head lice, or nits, or eggs of head lice or combed hair or fur fleas, these aspects individually or together called hereinafter. head lice.

The comb, according to the invention, is composed of three parts:

- the handle, used to hold the comb by the user;

- the head of the comb;

- the three rows (1,2,3) of teeth (10, 20,30) located in the head of the comb.

The length of the comb preferably reaches 15 cm, and the width preferably 9 mm. The length of the teeth is approximately 32 mm.

The head of the comb reaches approximately 40 mm and the diameter of the magnifying glass reaches approximately 16 mm.

According to the invention, the comb comprises an ergonomic handle, preferably non-slip. It has the shape of the fingers, preferably four fingers, for excellent grip. As a result, the cutout present in this ergonomic shape follows the natural shape of the fingers for a perfect grip.

According to the invention, a magnifying glass is integrated for easy detection of lice, larvae and head nits (magnification x 3 preferably).

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the comb is made from a material resistant to high temperatures; therefore the comb is specially designed to be washable at 60 ° C in washing machine, dishwasher and dryer. The comb can even be immersed in boiling water at 100 °. This represents a hygienic aspect in use.

Rows of teeth:

As shown in FIG. 3, the comb according to the invention has three rows of teeth:

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the central row (2) of teeth (20) is positioned in the middle of the two external rows (1,3) of teeth (10, 30).

The spacing of the teeth (20) of the central row (2) is less than the spacing of the teeth (10, 30) of the first (1) and second (3) outer rows. However in the three rows the teeth are placed in an ultra-tightened manner.

The teeth used for the three rows are identical, in particular the diameter and the length of the teeth used in the three rows are identical.

Preferably the material of the teeth is metallic, more specifically the teeth are made of stainless steel.

Preferably the end of the teeth, in particular the part opposite the base of the teeth, is pointed, but nevertheless rounded which does not irritate the scalp.

By “the base of the teeth” in the context of the present invention is meant the point of implantation of the teeth in the head of the comb.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the teeth are of cylindrical shape, the length being between 20 and 40 mm, preferably between 25 and 35 mm, more particularly the length is approximately 32 mm.

For a tooth with a length of approximately 32 mm, the diameter over a length of approximately 28 mm from the base of the tooth remains invariable, while the diameter over a length of approximately 4 mm located at the end of the tooth tapers gradually to the end of the tooth.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the diameter of a tooth is between 1 and 2 mm, preferably about 1.20 mm.

The positioning of the teeth in the central row (2) and the outer rows (1, 3) is such that the positions of the teeth are staggered. The arrows shown in Figure 3 clearly demonstrate this positioning.

FIG. 4 shows a technical drawing of the teeth as positioned in the head of the comb according to the invention. This figure 4 also mentions the distances of the different characteristics of the teeth expressed in millimeters.

The spacing between the central row (2) and each outer row (1,3) is preferably between 2 and 3 mm, preferably about 2.50 mm.

The teeth preferably have a micro-grooved or twisted shape. This implies the presence of a groove on the surface of each tooth. As shown in Figure 6 the groove is wound on each tooth. As also shown in Figure 6 the micro-grooved shape is repeated every 2 mm along the length of the tooth.

These micro-grooves or ridges are very light compared to the diameter of the tooth.

Preferably the pattern of micro-grooved shapes or streaks through the teeth is non-aligned or irregular. Figure 6 shows that the streaks are found on different teeth at different heights. This irregular pattern of streaks or micro-grooved shapes can be obtained by implanting the teeth in the head of the comb.

The presence of these micro-grooves according to this irregular or non-aligned pattern generates a technical effect when using the comb, implying a high efficiency during the passage of the comb through the hair. This makes it easier to catch and remove lice on all types of hair.

The number of teeth in the central row (2) of the comb according to the invention is between 30 and 40 teeth, preferably it comprises approximately 35 teeth.

The number of teeth in the outer rows (1, 3) is also between 30 and 40 teeth, preferably these rows have one less tooth in comparison with the number of teeth in the central row.

The spacing between the teeth is preferably greater than 0.1 mm.

It is preferably 1.37 mm for the central row and 1.45 mm for the outer rows.

Tests carried out on the basis of the comb according to the invention have revealed that the manipulations made from the comb are felt by the users as gentle on the treated hair. As a result, the comb is suitable for all types of hair: fine to thick, straight to curly. In addition, when using the comb, the hair does not become tangled and the scalp is not irritated. This is explained in particular by the teeth with rounded points which respect the scalp and the hair without damaging them.

The comb according to the invention can be used for two purposes:

- detection and / or prevention of lice on dry hair;

- elimination of lice on wet hair, after an anti-lice treatment, for example with a lice repellant spray, an anti-lice lotion or a daily anti-lice shampoo.

The comb according to the invention offers an effective and natural solution to allow in periods of high contamination to effectively prevent and treat the hair against harmful undesirable.
