Abstract

The card has an electronic component such as a chip or a microchip, for storing information required for utilization of the card, where the card has a unique number. The electronic component is completed by a magnetic track based on the standard of a terminal that exchanges data with the component, where the card is loaded with a predetermined amount in determined currency such as euro, and is not related to a postal or bank account of a carrier of the card.

Description

  Carte monnaie

  Currency card

The present invention relates to an electronic payment card which is not

not linked to the bank account, postal account or other of the cardholder and which is responsible for a predetermined amount of a given currency.

This currency card can be used anywhere in the world where a terminal allowing the exchange of data with the electronic component - chip or chip, or any other type of rewritable memory - is possible thus allowing, by the flow of the card itself, the payment for any merchandise or service of any kind.

The coin is sold charged with a fixed amount, in Euro or any other currency and designed according to the country of use. The type of component (chip, ...) depends on the standard in force in the country of residence of the buyer or the standard of another country.

The electronic component makes it possible to store all the information necessary for issuing and using multi-currency and multistandard currency cards.

The electronic component (chip) can be replaced or supplemented by a magnetic strip or another technology (chemical memory, ...) depending

the chosen terminal standard.

The invention offers the following main advantages:

The currency card offers a new means of payment (complementary to others) allowing access to automatic cash registers, terminals, ATMs or other distributors and in general in any place where the Currency Card is accepted.

The currency card greatly limits the need for money

local or foreign metal.

Not being linked to the holder's financial account, the card is not rechargeable by it, but can be used without the holder has a bank account or other in his country of residence or any other country visited.

The currency card can be sold through banking, credit, post office, travel agencies, Internet or any other organization. The card is issued only after payment of the amount charged, card fees and distribution. It is therefore not a form of credit.

The cards are numbered individually, the buyer is identified and a possible opposition in case of loss or theft and replacement or refund of them is possible.

The unused balance of a currency card may be redeemed by the issuer of the card, but in principle the currency card will be used until the balance is exhausted.

The currency card can be purchased and used until its balance is exhausted by minors or without financial accounts
(bank or otherwise) Claims:

1. Electronic payment card characterized in that it is not linked to the financial accounts (bank or otherwise) of the cardholder, and the fact that it is charged with a predetermined amount, in Euro or any other currency.
