Abstract

The procedure for applying photographic images, designs and text to articles made from chocolate consists of printing the images on a layer of marzipan, white chocolate or other edible surface with the aid of a printer employing edible colourings, and then placing the printed layer on the chocolate base. The image, transferred to the printer by a scanner or digital camera, can also be printed directly onto a chocolate or marzipan base, in which case no subsequent assembly is necessary.

Description

  Chocolate photographs.

The present invention relates to the use of chocolate tablets, sticks, caraques or pralines as a support for photographs, drawings or diagrams.

The patterns (photographs, drawings, diagrams, images, text, ...) are printed on a sheet of marzipan, white chocolate or other edible medium from a printer using food colors. This sheet is then placed on the chocolate support. Printing can also be done directly on the chocolate support or on a larger mass of marzipan. In the latter case, there is no assembly required.

The invention offers as an advantage the personalization and decoration of chocolate by images or photographs in color or black / white directly on the chocolate and no longer on the packaging or the container.

The document to be reproduced (photographs, images, drawings, etc.) is scanned and then printed using a food coloring printer on a sheet of marzipan or other edible material. The assembly with the chocolate support (tablets, caraques, pralines, ...) is carried out by laying this sheet before cooling and hardening of the chocolate, which will ensure the fixing. It is also possible to carry out the assembly after hardening of the chocolate by the use of a thin layer of caramel or of melted chocolate which, by cooling, will ensure the fixing.

The transfer of the image to the printer can be done not only through the scanner but also electronically in the case of digital photography; all with or without piloting, retouching and cutting assisted by computer.

Claims (1)

The use of the product itself (chocolate or marzipan) and not of its packaging or container as a printing medium: the photograph (or image, drawing, diagram, text, ...) is reproduced by means of a color printer using food coloring directly on the chocolate or on the marzipan sheet which will then be placed on the chocolate support before cooling and solidification of the latter, which will ensure the assembly of the different parts.
