<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
portable suivant l'invention.
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

Support and load module
The present invention relates to a support and charge module for the hands-free use of a mobile telephone comprising an input socket for direct current separate from the means for fixing the module and a direct current converter for converting bass voltages at a cell phone supply voltage.
In recent years, the field of mobile telephony has experienced significant development and the use of mobile phones has become widespread, particularly in vehicles. It was therefore necessary to impose the use of devices enabling a mobile telephone to be operated hands-free in a vehicle. These devices make it possible to preserve the total freedom of use of both hands for the driver of said vehicle. It is indeed dangerous to drive a vehicle while having a telephone conversation during which the driver must hold the mobile phone with one hand against his ear.
Support and charging modules allowing the hands-free use of a portable telephone in a vehicle such as that described in US Pat. No. 5,642,402 have therefore become commonplace.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
However, the common point of all support and charge modules for hands-free use of a mobile phone is that they are intended for exclusive use in a vehicle.
Indeed, these modules are fixed to the dashboard of the vehicle by fixing means requiring the use of specific tools to be removed, because these modules are designed to remain permanently fixed in the vehicle and receive a mobile phone at any time. Their use outside the vehicle is therefore not planned. This usage limit therefore represents a disadvantage. Indeed, the user does not use his mobile phone only in his vehicle. So, to have his device that is kept charged, he must necessarily have a charger on separate sector. A mobile phone user must therefore have several accessories specific to each use of the mobile phone.
A charger for the office and a charger for the vehicle separate and not interchangeable are, at present, the two essential elements for the optimal use of a mobile phone.
The object of the present invention is to provide a support and charging module for the hands-free use of a portable telephone which is multifunctional, that is to say also usable outside a vehicle and in particular placed on a desk or on a table.
To this end, the support and load module according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one fixing means arranged to be detachably attached, in particular to a dashboard of a vehicle, said module being arranged to also be placed on a table, and a transformer connected to an input socket for alternating current to convert a network voltage into the supply current of the mobile telephone.
The support and charging module for the hands-free use of a portable telephone according to the present invention can easily
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
be hung and detached from the dashboard of a vehicle since the means that secure it to it are not permanent. In addition, this module includes a stable base with non-slip pads, so as to be placed on a table or desk. This support and charge module can therefore be used both in a vehicle and on a desk, at home, etc.
In addition to the direct current converter connected to the vehicle voltage to convert low voltages to a voltage suitable for the supply current of the mobile phone, this module includes an integrated transformer so as to convert an alternating mains voltage into current. mobile phone power supply and this transformer is connected to an input socket for alternating current.
The presence of these two elements is very important since it allows you to charge the battery of a mobile phone from AC power outlets, therefore at home, in the office, and also in a car in which the connection of the module according to the The invention can be carried out directly on the cigarette lighter or on the vehicle battery. / 1 therefore becomes unnecessary to carry a charger permanently since the support and charging module according to the invention acts as a charger both in a vehicle than outside.
The user can therefore keep this support and charge module in his vehicle and then unhook it from the dashboard to drop it on his desk, for example.
When the user wants to change vehicles, he has no difficulty removing his support and charge module and transferring it to another vehicle. This constitutes an important advantage because generally the users who install this type of support and load module specifically adapted to the use in a vehicle can no longer then transfer it to another vehicle without carrying out considerable work of dismantling the module. In addition, the fact of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
dismantling these modules leaves holes in the dashboard of the vehicle, which is not very aesthetic.
These modules have a comparable cost and sometimes higher than that of a mobile phone and must therefore be bought again each time the person changes vehicle.
The module according to the invention makes it possible to eliminate these disadvantages by offering the user the opportunity to use his mobile phone hands-free wherever he is and with excellent comfort of use.
In addition, the mobile phone can be kept charged, whether through a supply from direct current or alternating current, regardless of where the user wants to use it.
The support and charge module according to the invention is also very stable when placed on a table or desk and therefore allows the user to have a telephone conversation while taking notes or looking for files. This support and charging module is therefore used hands-free also in the office with great handling comfort,
In a preferred form of the invention, there is provided a connector pin for an alphanumeric keyboard, said pin being connected to a connector pin of the portable telephone. This allows the use of the mobile phone for sending SMS messages (Short Message Service) and connection to the Internet, these messages being composed on the alphanumeric keyboard.
The support module according to the invention also adapts to the new generation of portable telephones which use WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) technology. The module according to the invention is also intended to be easily usable with the new generation of UTMS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication) portable telephones.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
System) for which the alphanumeric keyboard will be a plus that will make mobile phones versatile.
The preferred embodiment of the present invention also comprises an amplifier with adjustable sound volume connected to an input for receiving an audio signal from the portable telephone, and at least one speaker.
This allows you to adjust the volume of the speaker and therefore the listening comfort whatever the surrounding conditions. In a vehicle, it is often necessary to increase the volume so as not to be bothered by the often significant background noise generated by road traffic and the vehicle itself. On the other hand, in an office, the use of a lower sound volume makes it possible not to disturb people in the vicinity.
The invention will now be described in more detail using the drawings which illustrate an embodiment of an apparatus of a module according to the invention.
In the drawings: FIG. 1 illustrates an overview of a support and charge module for the hands-free use of a portable telephone according to the invention; Fig. 2 shows a method of fixing the module according to the invention; Fig. 3 is the electrical diagram of the transformer used in the support and load module according to the present invention; Fig. 4 is the electrical diagram of a converter used in the support and load module according to the present invention, and FIG. 5 is the electrical diagram of an amplifier used in the support and charge module according to the present invention.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of a support and charging module 1 for the hands-free use of a telephone
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
portable according to the invention. In the example described, the module 1 comprises a base on which a mobile telephone can be placed, the portable telephone is arranged in a substantially vertical manner and the electrical contact between the support module and the portable telephone is made by means of a pin. connection 2 arranged on the base.
The mobile phone is held in place vertically thanks to two protrusions 3 which constitute atria and prevent the phone from tipping over to the side and thus allow the user to have the phone optimally placed to dial a number or press any key of said mobile phone, since the screen and the keys of the phone are facing the user. On the front face of the base of the module, at least one loudspeaker 5 is provided for sound output, as well as a means of adjusting 6 of this sound which is connected to a potentiometer so as to adjust the sound level of the cell phone depending on surrounding conditions.
In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1, we can see on the side of the support and charging module, an input socket 7 for alternating current as well as an input socket 8 for direct current and a connector pin 9 for an alphanumeric keyboard. The input socket 7 for an alternating current can be connected to a current of 220 volts 50 periods or, for example, a current of 110 volts 60 periods depending on the country where this support and charge module is to be used.
The direct current converter for converting low voltages into a supply voltage and mobile phone is provided to adjust reference voltages between 2.5 and 42 volts, so as to adapt to the voltage of the vehicle battery in which the user wants to use this support and charge module.
The input socket 7 for an alternating current therefore makes it possible to connect this module in any place comprising power sockets
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
from the network outside a vehicle and the input socket 8 for direct current allows its use and its connection, for example in the cigarette lighter or directly to the battery of a vehicle.
This support and load module according to the invention comprises on the lower surface of its base non-slip pads which allow the module to be placed stably on a desk.
This support and charging module therefore has the particularity of constituting a mobile telephone accessory which is multifunctional and usable in a vehicle as well as in an office without being excessively bulky while allowing access to the most recent applications offered. by mobile phones.
Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a fixing means which comprises two fixing lugs 10 and 11 which make it possible to position the support and load module on the dashboard of a vehicle. These fixing lugs are located on the rear part 12 of the support and load module.
In Fig. 3, a transformer transforms a network voltage into a DC voltage. This transformer is connected to the socket (A, B) shown in Fig. 1. In Europe, the network voltage is 220 volts 50 periods while it is 110 volts 60 periods in the United States. The transformer will therefore be adapted to the place where the support and load module of the invention will be used.
In Fig. 4, a DC-DC converter is provided and is connected to the ground and to the socket A'visible in FIG. 1 to be able to connect the support and charging module to the cigarette lighter of a vehicle, for example. Programmable stabilizing diodes are provided to adjust the reference voltages between 2.5 and 42 volts.
In Fig. 5, the audio amplifier allows the hands-free use of the mobile phone with the support and charging module
