<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 2 hetzelfde bevestigingsmiddel toont, in bovenaanzicht.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
uiteinde open.

Fastener for roofing felt and rock wool layers on flat roofs
This invention relates to a fastener having a sharp-tipped and threaded shank portion which is provided at the other end with a head portion that is wider than the shank portion and has a recess of a cross-sectional diameter.
When restoring old flat roofs, it is customary to apply a layer of rock wool to the old roofing felt. The thickness of this layer of rock wool can b. v. 20 - 50 cm. New roof felt is placed on the wool and both the felt and the wool are attached to the roof with fasteners made of plastic, with screw threads. The points of the fasteners cut through the old felt that can even lie on the roof in 2 to 4 layers and attach to the old felt and the layer of wool underneath. The length of the fasteners can even be 300 mm, depending on the thickness of the wool layers.
When using plastic fasteners with a relatively long shank, the problem is that the fastener head will rotate relative to the shank when screwed in when the fastener is attached to the head
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
screwed in with a normal screwdriver.
The fastener according to the invention is characterized in that the recess in the head section extends over most of the length of the shaft section.
The fastener according to the invention can be screwed on using a tool that is slid into the hollow of the shaft. Moreover, when the shank of the fastener is hollow, material of the fastener is saved, b. v. Glass fiber reinforced plastic, which is quite expensive. An advantage is also that the fasteners can be manufactured faster, because a thin piece of plastic cools quickly after casting.
In the case of a thin part, cooling does not cause a strong shrinkage, as in the case of a solid part.
The invention and its details are described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which
Fig. 1 shows the fastener according to the invention when viewed from the side, so that the right half of the figure is in section and
Fig. 2 shows the same fastener, in top view.
The fastener has a cylindrical shaft portion 1 and a conical sharp point portion 2 at one end. These are surrounded by a screw thread 3. At the other end there is a lenticular head 4. Inside the shaft portion is a longitudinally tapered cavity 5 in the longitudinal direction with respect to the attachment portion. The centerline of the cavity 5 coincides with the centerline of the shank of the fastener and the cavity is on the flange side
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
open end. In the embodiment according to the drawing, the cross-section of the cavity is at least hexagonal at the shaft part. The cross-section can also be different, b. v. square, as long as it deviates from the circle shape.
The fastener according to the invention is screwed in such that a tool can be slid into the cavity 5 of the shaft, the diameter of which corresponds to that of the cavity. The pointed part of the tool is also pointed as sharply as the pointed part of the cavity.
When the tool is turned, the fastener rotates with the tool. The tool particularly supports the pointed portion and transmits the cutting force thereon. For example, the threaded tip of the fastener cuts through the felt and wool layers and the fastener is attached to the roof. The steel shank of the tool supports the fastener when screwing in so that the shaft part of the fastener is not twisted.
