"Hulpmiddel te gebruiken ter bescherming tegen uitdrogen en/of verharden van verfmateriaal"
Deze uitvinding heeft betrekking op een hulpmiddel te gebruiken ter bescherming tegen uitdrogen en/of verharden van verfmateriaal, zoals borstels, penselen, rolborstels enzovoort.
Verfmateriaal, zowel borstels, penselen of rolborstels, worden na gebruik in een oplosmiddel gedrenkt en ter voorkoming van uitdrogen en verharden van het verfmateriaal moeten de haren of de rolborstels meermaals door het oplosmiddel worden bewerkt om hun soepelheid te bewaren. Na veelvuldig herhalen van de reinigingsbewerking is het verfmateriaal niet steeds vrij van verf zodat het regelmatig gebeurt dat het materiaal wanneer het aan de lucht wordt blootgesteld verhardt. In vele gevallen wordt dan nog verkozen het verfmateriaal in het oplosmiddel gedrenkt te houden.
Deze manier van werken biedt talloze nadelen. In de eerste plaats moet men steeds het nodige oplosmiddel bij de hand hebben. Na gebruik moet dit oplosmiddel hetzij gestockeerd, in vele gevallen weggegooid worden. Dit laatste is een oorzaak van vervuiling. In de tweede plaats stelt men vast, wat zopas is uiteengezet, dat de borstelharen of de rolborstels hun vroegere soepelheid niet meer vertonen.
De uitvinding heeft nu tot doel deze en andere nadelen te verhelpen en een hulpmiddel te verschaffen waardoor het verfmateriaal meerdere dagen achter elkaar kan worden gebruikt voor zover echter de borstels voor het beschilderen met dezelfde verfsoorten

worden gebruikt.
Om dit volgens de uitvinding mogelijk te maken, wordt het hulpmiddel volgens de uitvinding gevormd door een minstens over de borstel- of penseelharen en de basis waarop de haren hiervan vastzitten, respectievelijk de rol van de rolborstel, verschuifbare koker die nauw over de haren, respectievelijk hogerbedoelde basis, past en van een deksel is voorzien voor het afsluiten van bedoelde koker.
In een eerste verwezenlijkingsvorm van de uitvinding vertoont hogerbedoelde koker afmetingen waardoor de koker uitsluitend rondom de borstelpenseelharen, respectievelijke hogerbedoelde basis, past.
Volgens een variante wordt hogerbedoelde koker verlengd door een versmalde koker waardoor ook de steel van de borstel omsloten wordt.
Andere details en voordelen van de uitvinding zullen blijken uit de hiernavolgende beschrijving van een hulpmiddel te gebruiken ter bescherming tegen uitdrogen en/of verharden van verfmateriaal, zoals borstels, penselen, rolborstels enzovoort, volgens de uitvinding. Deze beschrijving wordt uitsluitend bij wijze van voorbeeld gegeven en beperkt de uitvinding niet. De verwijzingscijfers hebben betrekking op de hieraan toegevoegde figuren.
Figuur 1 is een perspectivische voorstelling van een cilindrische borstel met over handvat en borstelharen te schuiven koker met deksel.
Figuur 2 is een perspectivische voorstelling van dezelfde borstel met daarop bevestigd hulpmiddel.

Figuur 4 toont de borstel volgens figuur 3 met daarop bevestigd, van zijn deksel voorzien, hulpmiddel.
Figuur 5 is een perspectivische voorstelling van een rolborstel met over de rol van de borstel te schuiven cilindrische koker.
Figuur 6 vertoont de cilindrische koker uit figuur 5 met uiteengenomen deksel en gedeeltelijk in de koker geschoven rol.
Figuur 7 vertoont een variante van het hulpmiddel volgens de figuren 5 - 6.
Figuur 8 vertoont een variante van het hulpmiddel volgens de figuren 1 tot 4.
De verschillende figuren hebben dezelfde referenties met betrekking op identische elementen.
Het hulpmiddel door deze figuren voorgesteld, kan uiteraard verschillende vormen aannemen.
Aan de basis van de uitvindingsgedachte ligt de vaststelling dat de haren van een penseel of een borstel, evenals de rol van een rolborstel, soepel en dus bruikbaar blijven indien men na het beëindigen van de werktaak de niet in een oplossing gedrenkte haren of rol van enig contact, of althans zoveel mogelijk van enig contact, met de lucht vrijwaart.
Dit kan op velerlei wijzen gebeuren en deze verschillende middelen zullen hierna worden beschreven verwijzend naar de figuren 1 tot 6.
De figuren 1 en 2 stellen een cilindrische borstel 1 voor met een basis 2 waarop de haren 3 vastzitten. De steel van de borstel wordt met referentie 4 verduidelijkt. Om de haren 3 tegen uitdrogen en verharden te beschermen, wordt nu een

koker 5 over de steel 4 en verder tot over de basis 2 en de haren 3 geschoven tot men de stand bereikt die is afgebeeld in figuur 2. Dan wordt het deksel 6 aangebracht. De bevestiging van de koker 5 op de basis 2 van de borstel 1 kan op velerlei wijzen worden bewerkstelligd. Door gebruik te maken van een continu of onderbroken schroefdraad, zoals voorgesteld door verwijzing 7, kan een goede bevestiging van de koker 5 ter hoogte van de haren 3 van de borstel 1 worden bekomen.
De oplossing door figuren 3 en 4 voorgesteld, verschilt principieel niet van de oplossing volgens de figuren 1 en 2. Men heeft hier te doen met een rechthoekige borstel 8 met een basis 9 waarop de haren 3 op gebruikelijke wijze zijn bevestigd. De koker 10 heeft hier dus een rechthoekige doorsnede en wordt langsheen de steel 4 geschoven tot de koker de stand inneemt die uit figuur 4 blijkt. Om een voldoende klemming van de koker 10 op de basis 9 van de borstel 8 te verzekeren, is over de omtrek van de basis 9 een doorlopende uitstulping 11 voorzien die samenwerkt met een doorlopende gleuf binnenin de rechthoekige koker 10 voorzien. Is de koker 10 op de basis 9 van de borstel 8 bevestigd, dan kan het rechthoekig deksel 12 op de koker 10 worden gedrukt.
Figuur 8 vertoont een variante van de uitvinding in de uitvoeringsvorm volgens de figuren 1 tot 4, in deze zin dat nu ook de steel 4 van de borstel, zowel van het type volgens figuren 1 en 2, als van het type volgens figuren 3 en 4, in een versmalde koker 17 kan worden geschoven. De versmalde koker 17 heeft minimale afmetingen waardoor het volume lucht dat in de volledige koker bestaande uit de koker 5 met zijn verlengd en versmald gedeelte tot het strikte minimum wordt herleid. De verf die aan de borstelharen vastzit,

zal door het klein volume omgevende lucht niet uitdrogen. Dit geldt uiteraard ook voor een hulpmiddel bestemd voor een rechthoekige borstel volgens de figuren 3 en 4 waarvan de steel 4 dan ook in een verlengde en versmalde koker zal worden gevat.
Het op een analoge wijze tegen de inwerking van de lucht beschermen van de rol 13 van een rolborstel 14 geschiedt, volgens een eerste uitvoeringsvorm, door gebruik te maken van een cilindrische koker 15 die over de rol 13 kan worden geschoven tot deze rol volledig in de cilindrische koker is geschoven, waarna een deksel 16 op elk uiteinde van de cilindrische koker wordt, hetzij geschroefd, hetzij door klemming ingedrukt.
Figuur 7 heeft betrekking op een interessante variante van de uitvoeringsvorm volgens de figuren 5 en 6. De hier voorgestelde oplossing bestaat uit een koker 15 met een langwerpige inkeping 18. Deze koker 15 kan een of zonodig van twee deksels zijn voorzien. Wanneer de rol 13, volgens pijl 19 (figuur 7) volledig in de koker 15 is gedrukt, kan het gedeelte 20 van het handvat van de rolborstel in de langwerpige inkeping 18 worden geschoven. De rol 13 zit dan volledig in de koker 15 en het deksel 16 kan dan op gebruikelijke wijze op het open uiteinde van de koker 15 hetzij worden geschroefd, hetzij worden ingedrukt.
Deze oplossing biedt het voordeel dat de uitvinding dan ook van toepassing is op rolborstels met niet uiteenneembare verfrollen.
Op verrassende wijze is nu vastgesteld dat de haren van een borstel of de rol van de rolborstel hun soepelheid bewaren en terug klaar voor gebruik zijn indien men deze onderdelen tegen de drogende werking van de lucht vrijwaart.

borstel of hetzelfde penseel bij een bepaalde verfsoort horen, maar dit neemt niet weg dat het penseel na het beëindigen van de dagtaak niet onmiddellijk in een oplosmiddel moet worden gereinigd. Een oplossing zal dan slechts moeten worden gebruikt wanneer men met een bepaald penseel, borstel of rolborstel van de ene verfsoort naar een andere moet overgaan.
Het is duidelijk dat middelen ter bevestiging van de koker op de borstel verschillende vormen kunnen aannemen voor zover deze voldoen aan de eisen in verband met tijdelijke klemming en afdichting ten overstaan van de lucht.
De uitvinding is niet beperkt tot de hierboven beschreven uitvoeringsvorm en vele wijzigingen zouden hieraan kunnen worden aangebracht zonder buiten het raam van de octrooiaanvraag te treden.

This way of working has numerous disadvantages. First of all, the necessary solvent must always be available. After use, this solvent must either be stored or discarded in many cases. The latter is a cause of pollution. Secondly, it has been established, as has been explained, that the bristles or roller brushes no longer exhibit their former flexibility.
The object of the invention is now to remedy these and other drawbacks and to provide an aid whereby the paint material can be used for several days in a row, provided, however, that the brushes for painting with the same paints

are used.
In order to make this possible according to the invention, the aid according to the invention is formed by a sleeve which is slidable at least over the bristles or brush bristles and the base on which the bristles are attached, or the roller brush roller, respectively above-mentioned base, fits and is provided with a lid for closing the said tube.
In a first embodiment of the invention, the above-mentioned tube has dimensions, whereby the tube fits exclusively around the bristle bristles, respectively above-mentioned base.
According to a variant, the aforementioned tube is extended by a narrowed tube, whereby the handle of the brush is also enclosed.
Other details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of an aid to be used for protection against drying out and / or hardening of paint material, such as brushes, brushes, roller brushes, etc., according to the invention. This description is given by way of example only and does not limit the invention. The reference numbers refer to the attached figures.

The aid proposed by these figures can, of course, take various forms.
At the basis of the inventive idea is the observation that the bristles of a brush or a brush, as well as the role of a roller brush, remain flexible and thus usable if, after the end of the work task, the hair or roller of any kind of hair that has not been soaked in a solution is contact, or at least as much as possible of any contact, with the air.
This can be done in many ways and these various means will be described below with reference to Figures 1 to 6.
Figures 1 and 2 represent a cylindrical brush 1 with a base 2 on which the bristles 3 are attached. The brush handle is illustrated with reference 4. To protect the hairs 3 from drying out and hardening, one now becomes

sleeve 5 is slid over the stem 4 and further over the base 2 and the hairs 3 until the position shown in figure 2 is reached. Then the lid 6 is applied. The attachment of the sleeve 5 to the base 2 of the brush 1 can be effected in many ways. By using a continuous or interrupted screw thread, as represented by reference 7, a good fastening of the sleeve 5 at the level of the bristles 3 of the brush 1 can be obtained.
The solution represented by Figures 3 and 4 does not differ in principle from the solution according to Figures 1 and 2. The object here is a rectangular brush 8 with a base 9 on which the hairs 3 are fixed in the usual manner. The sleeve 10 therefore has a rectangular cross-section here and is slid along the stem 4 until the sleeve assumes the position shown in Figure 4. In order to ensure a sufficient clamping of the sleeve 10 on the base 9 of the brush 8, a continuous bulge 11 is provided over the periphery of the base 9, which cooperates with a continuous groove inside the rectangular sleeve 10. When the sleeve 10 is attached to the base 9 of the brush 8, the rectangular cover 12 can be pressed onto the sleeve 10.
Figure 8 shows a variant of the invention in the embodiment according to Figures 1 to 4, in the sense that now also the handle 4 of the brush, both of the type according to Figures 1 and 2, and of the type according to Figures 3 and 4 can be slid into a narrowed tube 17. The narrowed sleeve 17 has minimal dimensions, so that the volume of air contained in the entire sleeve consisting of the sleeve 5 with its elongated and narrowed section is reduced to the strict minimum. will not dry out due to the small volume of surrounding air. This of course also applies to an aid intended for a rectangular brush according to figures 3 and 4, the handle of which 4 will therefore also be placed in an elongated and narrowed tube.
According to a first embodiment, the roller 13 of a roller brush 14 is protected in an analogous manner against the action of air by using a cylindrical sleeve 15 which can be slid over the roller 13 until this roller is completely in the cylindrical sleeve is slid, after which a lid 16 is screwed or pressed by clamping onto each end of the cylindrical sleeve.
Figure 7 relates to an interesting variant of the embodiment according to Figures 5 and 6. The solution proposed here consists of a sleeve 15 with an elongated notch 18. This sleeve 15 can be provided with one or two lids if necessary. When the roller 13, according to arrow 19 (figure 7), is fully pressed into the sleeve 15, the part 20 of the handle of the roller brush can be slid into the elongated notch 18. The roller 13 is then fully seated in the sleeve 15 and the cover 16 can then either be screwed or pressed onto the open end of the sleeve 15 in the usual manner.
This solution offers the advantage that the invention therefore also applies to roller brushes with non-separable paint rollers.
It has now surprisingly been found that the bristles of a brush or the roller of the roller brush retain their flexibility and are ready for use again if these parts are protected against the drying effect of the air.
