Description

     Par le document DE-B-19 59 507, on connaît un dispo- sitif pour la granulation d'une matière synthétique extrudée dans lequel le matériau est extrudé à travers une plaque à trou et dans lequel la corde est divisée par une tête coupante rotative présentant plusieurs couteaux,

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   Device for separating plastic cords from molded bodies.

   The invention relates to a device for separating extruded plastics cords into regular-sized molded bodies, particularly suitable for cords of plastic oxide catalysts containing lubricants and binding agents, said device having a rotary cutting element. disposed in front of a hole plate or in front of one or more extrusion openings and the axis of which is arranged parallel to the extruded cord.

   Molded bodies of oxide catalysts are for example produced by adding a lubricant and a binding agent to the corresponding mixture of metal oxides, by extruding the plastic mass, by dividing the extruded cord with a cutting element to the desired length of the molded bodies. and by calcining the molded bodies. Such a process is for example described in document DE-C-39 39 533.

     Document DE-B-19 59 507 discloses a device for the granulation of an extruded synthetic material in which the material is extruded through a hole plate and in which the cord is divided by a rotary cutting head with several knives,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 the axis of rotation of the cutting head being arranged parallel to the extruded cords. One drawback is that when the knives are damaged or when
 EMI2.1
 wants to re-sharpen them, you have to remove them separately and readjust them separately later.

  4lo-avea i
From document DE-B-111 91 55, it is also known to separate plastic cords into separate sections by means of a wire, the wire being fixed to the free ends of two levers and the cutting wire making an up and down movement. In this way, it is not possible to achieve high cutting speeds.

   The object of the present invention therefore lies in the development of a device for separating into molded bodies of regular size extruded cords made of plastic, particularly suitable for cords of oxide catalysts containing lubricants and binding agents, said device having a cutting element arranged in front of a hole plate or one or more extrusion openings and the axis of which is arranged parallel to the extruded cord, making it possible to achieve high cutting speeds as well as a high ease of repair.

   This problem is solved according to the invention by making the cutting element in the form of a rim to which one or more sections of wire are fixed, at diametrically opposite points, by means of a spring at one end. or at both ends.

   The wire sections are preferably fixed at both ends to the rim by means of spiral springs.

   The device according to the invention makes it possible to achieve high cutting speeds, almost without wire breaks. In addition, the cut molded bodies have a straight, undistorted cutting surface.

   For example, Figures 1 and II schematically show an embodiment of the device according to the invention, Figure 1 showing a section

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 longitudinal through an extrusion hole and the cutting element and Figure II representing the top view of the cutting element.

   The plastic composition (1) is molded via an extrusion hole (2) into a cord (3). At the front face of the extrusion hole (2) there is a rotary cutting element (4) which cuts the cord (3) into different molded bodies of the same size. The axis of rotation of the cutting element (4) is arranged parallel to the extruded cord (3). The cutting element (4) driven by a motor consists of a rim (5) on which is fixed, at two diametrically opposite points, a section of wire (6), made of a material resistant to tearing and wear , by means of spiral springs (7) at both ends.

  The length of the molded bodies can be adjusted by the speed of extrusion of the cord (3) and the speed of rotation of the cutting element (4).
The cutting element (4) may comprise several sections of wire (6) which are distributed regularly over the contour of the rim. In addition, several strings (3) can be cut using a cutting element (4).

   The following example explains the device according to the invention:
A mixed oxide catalyst, containing iron oxide, nickel oxide, bismuth oxide, molybdenum phosphate and silica, is compressed through a 5 mm extrusion hole diameter at a speed of about 250 mm / sec.

   The cutting element is equipped with a tungsten wire with a diameter of 0.2 mm and is adjusted at a speed of 970 rpm. By modifying the extrusion speed and / or the rotation speed, it is possible to manufacture molded bodies having a length of between 4 and 10 mm.
