<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
stalen kledingstang.
In fig. In fig.
2 in dwarsdoorsnede is weergegeven.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
2 is aangegeven.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

DESCRIPTION Clothes rail for the hanging transport of ready-to-wear.
The invention relates to a clothes rail for the suspended transport of clothes, comprising a load-bearing part in the form of an elongated profile, on which the hooks of coat hangers can be hung and which can be provided at the ends with fixing members for attaching to a wall. the clothes rail.
In the current clothes bar used in practice, the load-bearing part consists of a steel tube. This has the drawback that the weight is approximately 10 kg. amounts. A clothes rail with such a weight is considered heavy from an ergonomic point of view. In addition, when using approximately 100 clothes rails in a truck for the transport of ready-to-wear clothing, a considerable extra weight is also transported. This is particularly disadvantageous if so-called combined transport is involved, that is to say that ready-to-wear clothing is first transported and delivered, then the rods are disassembled and other goods are taken on the way back. In the latter transport, the weight of the approximately 100 clothes rails must also be transported.
The object of the invention is to at least partly obviate the above-mentioned drawbacks, by providing a clothes rail which has a considerably lower weight, but which has the same or even better properties in terms of deflection under load than the known clothes rail.
This object is achieved by a clothes bar of the above type, which is characterized by the feature of claim 1.
A clothes rail designed in this way, which is dimensioned such that with an evenly distributed load of approximately 200 kg. the deflection is substantially equal to the deflection of a known steel clothes rail, has a weight that is approximately 40% lower than that of the known

steel clothes rail.
Since the moments of inertia of the cross section of the supporting part about the two main inertia axes are substantially the same, there will be no oblique bending (also referred to as double bending) in the supporting part due to the load applied thereon. The load-bearing part will therefore always bend in the direction of the load to be applied to it. As a result, the moments exerted on the fasteners can be kept to a minimum.
Further features of the clothes rail according to the invention are defined in the dependent claims 2 to 11.
The invention will be further elucidated hereinbelow with reference to the drawing, in which: Fig. 1 schematically shows a clothes rail suspended between two walls, and Fig. 2 shows a cross section of a preferred embodiment of a clothes rail according to the invention.
Fig. 1 schematically shows a clothes rail for the hanging transport of ready-to-wear clothes, which clothes rail comprises a carrying part 2 in the form of an elongated profile, which is provided at both ends 3 and 4 with fastening members 5 and 6. By means of these fasteners 5,6 allow the clothes rail 1 to be hung between two spaced apart walls 7 and 8. In Fig. 1, the fasteners 5,6 are hook-shaped and protrude into slotted holes 9 and 10 arranged in the walls 7 and 8. However, the fasteners 5 and 6 can also take many different forms known in practice.
In a preferred embodiment of a clothes rail according to the invention, the supporting part 2 consists of an aluminum tubular profile, which is composed of a plurality of integrally connected tubes, as shown in cross-section in Fig. 2.
The profile shown in fig. 2 is composed of a first tube 11 with a substantially round cross-section, extending parallel to the first tube 11
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
and second tube 12 fixedly connected to the first tube with an elongated cross section and a third tube 13 extending parallel to the first tube 11 and the second tube 12 and fixedly connected to the second tube 12 with the substantially triangular cross section.
The second tube 12 essentially consists of four wall parts 14,15,16,17. The first wall part 14 is substantially flat and connects at a right angle to the wall 18 of the first tube 11. The width of the first wall part 14 is substantially equal to half a diameter of the first tube 11.
The second wall part 15 is also substantially flat and near the connection of the first wall part 14 on the wall 18 of the first tube 11 connects to this first wall part 14 and the wall 18 of the first tube 11. The angle between the first wall part 14 and second wall part 15 between 90 and 120 and preferably between 100 and 110 °. The width of the second wall part 15 is substantially equal to the diameter of the first tube 11.
The third wall part 16 is also substantially flat and adjoins this first wall part near the second side edge 19 of the first wall part 14 and runs parallel to the second wall part 15. The width of the third wall part 16 is also substantially equal to the diameter of the first tube 11.
The fourth wall section 17 connects the side edges 20 and 21 of the second and third wall sections 15 and 16 remote from the first wall section 14. The fourth wall part 17 is curved and in the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 has the shape of a half cylinder.
The third tube 13 consists of three wall parts 22, 23 and 24. The first wall part 22 of the third tube 13 is substantially flat and connects at a right angle to the first wall part 14 of the second tube 12, at a distance of the first tube 11 which is slightly smaller than the half diameter of the first tube 11. The width of the first wall part 22 is substantially equal to the half diameter of the first tube 11.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The second wall part 23 connects to the second side edge 25 of the first wall part 22 and encloses an angle of approximately 30 ° with this wall part 22.
The third wall part 24 connects the second side edge 26 of the second wall part 23 to the transition area 27 between the first 14 and third wall part 16 of the second tube 12.
The profile further comprises an intermediate wall part 28 which connects the transition area between the second and fourth wall part of the second tube with the wall of the first tube. The connection of this partition wall part 28 to the wall 18 of the first tube 11 is located in the circumferential direction of the first tube 11 at a distance of approximately 90 ° from the connection of the first wall part 14 of the second tube 12 to the wall 18 of the first tube 11.
The fasteners 5 and 6 are inserted into the first tube 11 at the ends of the supporting part 2. To prevent the fasteners 5 and 6 from rotating relative to this sleeve 11, the first sleeve 11 is provided on the inside with two longitudinally extending and diametrically opposed surfaces 29 and 30.
For the transport of clothes, the hooks 31 of coat hangers are hung over the first tube 11, as in fig.
2 is indicated. The load and the reaction forces on the supporting part 2 are therefore in the same vertical plane V.
The cross-sectional shape of the profile of the supporting part 2 described here is such that the moments of inertia of the cross-section about the two main inertia axes X and Y through the center of gravity 2 of the cross-section are substantially equal to each other. As a result of this, there is no oblique (double) bending in the load-bearing part 2 of the clothes rail as a result of the applied load. The supporting part will thus always bend in the direction of the plane V, so that the moments exerted on the fastening members 5 and 6 are kept to a minimum.
In the illustrated embodiment, the third tube has
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
13 near the connection with the second tube 12 an area 31 with a substantially round cross section. In this area 31, pins (not shown) can be arranged at the ends 3,4 of the supporting part 2, which can serve as hinges for a locking member rotatable about these pins (not shown), which is to prevent hanging over the first tube 11 hooks 39 of coat hangers spring off from the clothes rail during transport.
The profile is preferably an extruded aluminum profile with an even wall thickness.
When the profile of the load-bearing part 2 of the clothes rail according to the invention is dimensioned such that the deflection of the load-bearing part with an evenly distributed load of approximately 200 kg. approximately equal to the deflection of a load-bearing part of a known clothing rod consisting of a steel tube, the weight of the load-bearing part 2 is approximately 40% lower than with the known steel clothing rod. When approximately 100 clothes rails are used in a truck, this results in considerable weight savings.
The invention has been elucidated here on the basis of a particular preferred embodiment of the carrying part 2 of a clothes rail according to the invention. Within the limits indicated by the claims, the supporting part can also have other cross-sectional shapes. For example, the third profile part can be omitted or the second profile part can have a different cross-sectional shape. However, the cross-sectional shape of the load-bearing part must always be chosen in such a way that the requirement that the moments of inertia of the cross-section about the two main inertia axes are substantially equal to each other is avoided in order to prevent oblique (double) bending.
