<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

11 The invention relates to a stackable manually erectable packaging tray made of a sheet of corrugated cardboard or similar material with a polygonal, in particular rectangular bottom, with four walls adjoining the bottom and with corners reinforced by folded extensions.
To this end, two opposite walls, later called side walls, are folded over to the bottom sheet. The ends of the side walls which are already provided with glue in well-defined places according to the invention, hereby fold against the two other opposite walls, later referred to as end faces, and are pressed against them until fixed gluing at the provided places.
The side walls are then folded over manually and erected to a virtually vertical position, with the end faces automatically drawn along. These four vertical walls form the walls of the stackable packaging tray that can be set up manually.
The extensions adjacent to both end faces, later referred to as corner flaps, are then folded downward so that they are parallel to the aforementioned raised end walls and are anchored in the corresponding recesses of the bottom by means of anchor tabs.
The lateral ends of the corner flaps hereby form the corners and are folded over to form corner reinforcements.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The object of the invention is to form a stackable packaging tray which can be set up manually in a quick and inexpensive manner, which can be manufactured with a minimum of material, is relatively sturdy, such that it is particularly suitable for packaging, transport and storage at relatively high stacking.
The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the above stackable packaging tray to be set up manually.
This method is characterized in that a die-cut sheet of corrugated cardboard or the like is assumed with a polygonal central plane bounding by pleat lines forming the bottom surface, with side surfaces extending from these pleat lines and with front surfaces with adjacent corner flaps, the side surfaces being and bend faces manually so that the side faces and bump faces are positioned almost perpendicular to the bottom face, after which the corner flaps are folded inward and anchored by anchor tabs in the corresponding recesses of the bottom.
The inwardly folded corner flaps form so-called reinforcement corners in all four corners of the stackable packaging tray that can be set up manually by means of fold lines or score lines.
Finally, the invention also extends to a die-cut sheet of corrugated cardboard or the like for the manufacture of the above-described stackable manually erectable packaging tray.

The folding or creasing and gluing of the die-cut sheet of corrugated cardboard or the like shown in Fig. 1 to form a stackable manually erectable packaging tray, according to the invention, is illustrated by Figs. 2,3, 4,5 and 6.
First, glue is applied to the die-cut sheet of corrugated cardboard or similar fabric of Fig. 1 at the locations 10 and 11 as the ends of side wall 4, as well as the ends 12 and 13 as the ends of side wall 5.
In one of the possible ways of applying glue, a series of sprayed glue stripes was illustrated in Fig. 1 with short hatching.
Then, according to Fig. 2, the side walls 4 and 5 with ends 8 and 11, 9 and 10 and 12 and 7,6 and 13, to and against the ground plane 1 and partly over both end faces 2 and 3, according to their respective fold lines or score lines 53 and 42 folded over so that said planes abut each other.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
At that moment, the end 11 is glued to the end face 3, as well as the end 10 is glued to the end face 2. Analogously, the end 12 is glued to the end face 3, and the end 13 is glued to the end face 2.
In this blank condition, the stackable manual tray can be delivered. For the follow-up treatment, a set-up machine is not or not specially required.
The term "blank state" refers to FIG. 2 and is used for clarity reasons.
Now according to Fig. 3, the two end faces 2 and 3 are folded upwards according to their respective fold lines or score lines 54 and 55, at the same time the side walls 4 and 5 automatically form a side wall according to their respective fold lines or score lines 53 and 42.
The end consisting of 11 and 8 as well as the end consisting of 9 and 10 of side wall 4 are at this stage pleated along fold line or crease line 32 and 52 as well as fold lines or crease lines 51 and 33.
In an analogous manner, the end consisting of 12 and 7 as well as the end consisting of 13 and 6 of side wall 5 is pleated along the fold line or score line 41 and 43 as well as the fold lines or score lines 40 and 44.
The ends 11 and 8 of side wall 4 are pressed together by fold line or score line 51, as well as the ends 9 and 10 of side wall 4 are pressed together by fold line or score line 33.
Analogously, the ends 12 and 7 of side wall 5 as well as the ends 6 and 13 of side wall 5 are pressed against each other by fold line or score line 44 and 40, respectively.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
At this moment, it is at an intermediate position of Fig. 3, in which partly a stackable manually erectable packaging tray is formed, wherein the side walls 4 and 5 are glued to the end walls 2 and 3 by means of ends 11, 10, 13 and 12.
Now, according to FIG. 4, corner valve 14 is pleated inwardly along fold line or score line 58 or folded to rest position against the ends 7 and 8 of side walls 4 and 5.
In an analogous manner, angle flap 15 is pleated inwardly along fold line or score line 59 or folded to rest position against ends 6 and 9.
EMI7.1
The term "with reference to FIGS. 4 and is used for the sake of clarity.
The insert tabs 47 and 48 of angle valve 14 as well as the insert tabs 36 and 37 of angle valve 15 are then anchored in the recesses 28 and 29 and 26 and 27 of the bottom surface 1. The anchored angle valves 14 and 15 are now substantially perpendicular to the bottom surface 1 .
In one possible embodiment, anchor tabs 16 and 17 (Fig. 5) are provided which penetrate recesses 30 and 31 of a tray placed on top and thereby prevent lateral shifting of one tray relative to the other, which increases the stability of the package .
The top view (fig. 6) of the stackable manually put up packaging tray shows the corners 20 and 21, 24 and 25, 22 and 23 and 18 and 19 in the set up state.
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
These corners will be pressed against the side walls 4 and 5 in the rest position by means of fold lines or score lines 45, 39, 34 and 50 (fig. 1) by the product packaged in the stackable packaging box to be set up manually.
This creates the corner that provides additional reinforcement to the total stackable packaging tray to be set up manually.
It goes without saying that changes in the location and in the shape of the fold lines or score lines, incisions and recesses may be made without the invention becoming obsolete. This in so far as the object of the invention is achieved, which is to produce a stackable manually put up packaging tray according to the principles and methods described above by folding and gluing a sheet of corrugated cardboard or the like.
Setting up the described stackable packaging tray to be set up manually can be carried out in a simple and quick manner.
The stackable manual tray can be stored as shown in fig. 2.
The setting up of the stackable manually stackable packaging tray will only then have to take place when the product to be packaged must be packaged.
This gives the advantage of saving space during storage. Another advantage is that one does not have to invest in setting up the packaging tray in the form of a packaging forming machine.
The stackable manual tray in glued state can be set up in seconds.
