LEUR UTILISATION
Objet de l'invention
<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
mettre en oeuvre;
- plus grand spectre d'activité insecticide;
- meilleure pénétration du principe actif;
- stabilisation du mélange concentré dans l'eau;
- amélioration de la rémanence du produit pour l'action insecticide;
- meilleure biodégradabilité dans le sol du produit sous l'action des bactéries afin d'éviter une accumulation de produits toxiques;

INSECTICIDE COMPOSITIONS BASED ON PYRETHRINOIDS AND
THEIR USAGE
Subject of the invention
<EMI ID = 1.1>
improved insecticides based on synthetic compounds or insecticides of the pyrethroid type in a concentrated form emulsifiable by dilution with water.
It also relates to the use as insecticide of such compositions, for the protection of plants and animals and humans.
Summary of the state of the art
The use of pyrethrin as an insecticide of natural origin is well known. The product is generally obtained by extraction, using hydrocarbons of the kerozene type of pyrethrum (perennial flower close to chrysanthemum).
Also prepared by partial synthesis or. total of the neighboring pyrethrin compounds belonging to the pyrethrin class (this class including pyrethrin itself).
These compounds are commercially available, generally in concentrated solution in aromatic solvents.
By way of example, biphenate compounds are currently sold and used under various trade names in the form of a 100 g / l solution in xylene or deltamethrin in the form of a 25 g / l solution in cyclohexanone. These compounds are currently the most used because of their effectiveness and are preferably those also used in the context of the present invention.
Goals of the invention
Although pyrethroids are relatively low-toxic insecticides for humans and warm-blooded animals and therefore find household applications in homes, their toxicity should not be underestimated when used.
<EMI ID = 2.1>
particular,. when they are implemented by. unprotected personnel, especially during application by the ULV technique (ultra low volume = ultra low volume).
The essential aim of the invention '; is to marry the following requirements by offering a new form of composition of an insecticide agent:
- reduction of the immediate toxicity for the personnel in charge of the application, for the farm animals, for the environment and for the user of the treated products, even if they consume the products very shortly after their treatment
- increase by a non-toxic agent in the protection efficiency of the treatment, "which makes it possible to reduce <EMI ID = 3.1>
enforce;
- greater spectrum of insecticidal activity;
- better penetration of the active ingredient;
- stabilization of the concentrated mixture in water;
- improvement of the persistence of the product for the insecticidal action;
- better biodegradability in the soil of the product under the action of bacteria in order to avoid an accumulation of toxic products;
- Improvement of the adhesion properties of the active principle to plants and / or to insects attacking these plants.
Character-defining elements of the invention
The general principle on which the invention is based consists of the association in the form of an emulsifiable concentrate of pyrethroid. with a carrier (carrier) consisting of one or more terpene essential oils with the addition of emulsifiers and surfactants.
Expressed in relation to the main active principle pyrethroid (in the pure and dry state), the respective ratio of the support and the .surfactant may vary within wide limits depending on the type of application envisaged. Preferably, however, the following respective proportions will advantageously be used (parts by weight): <EMI ID = 4.1> <EMI ID = 5.1>
- emulsifying agents and surfactants: 4 to 10 parts. Among essential oils, preference is given to terpineol and its derivatives, especially the isomer or a compound with a high content (minimum 55 to 60%) of isomer (CAS: (a) 98-55-3 or Merck: Index
8996).
The emulsifying agent is intended on the one hand to obtain an emulsifiable composition, in particular to provide a stable emulsion for a minimum of 48 hours. The surfactant on the other hand ensures better penetration of the active principle on the subjects treated. If a product has both emulsifying and surfactant properties, it can of course be used alone in the context of the invention.
Particularly suitable in the context of the invention arylalkylsulfonate derivatives (in the acid form or of calcium, sodium salts, etc.) or also nonionics, or mixtures of anionics with nonionics. Also derivatives (polyoxyethylenated) may be suitable.
The compositions of the invention may further contain compounds well known in the art and qualified as "synergizers". These compounds are known to increase the insecticidal effect of an active compound and they can in principle all find application in the compositions of the invention, either alone or as a mixture.
They are used in an amount of 3 to 10 parts by weight per 1 part by weight of pyrethroid as a supplement. ment to the other constituents of the mixture mentioned above.
By way of illustration of the compounds - which can be used as "synergizing agent", the following compounds of Merck can be cited by way of non-limiting example. Index: 2855,
7351, 7756, 8308, 8309, 8310, 8847. These compounds are

that, be a name 'of. chemical nomenclature or either under a

-oxide, sesame oil, sesamex, sesamine, <EMI ID = 8.1>
etc.).
The compositions of the invention may also contain, as a complement, other adjuvants which facilitate processing, improve their stability and their storage characteristics or increase, by a complementary activity, the efficacy of the pyrethroid product.
By way of illustration of such compounds, the following may be mentioned (the content being expressed by way of non-limiting illustration in percentage by weight relative to 100 parts of one of the compositions of main constituents mentioned above):
An adhesion agent (tackifier) and / or humidifying agent (in particular for tropical or sub-tropical applications in dry areas) at a rate of approximately 1 to 3%. Propylene glycol or other glycolic compounds are particularly suitable for this purpose, as are cellulose derivatives, lecitin derivatives or a mixture of the abovementioned compounds.
A mutagen such as triflubenzurone which changes the metabolism of chitin formation in insects. As a result, the insect only forms an imperfect cuticle. Of course, this adjuvant is only to be considered for application cases to protect against adult insects and it has no efficacy on the larvae. It is used at a rate of 0.5 to 4%
A wetting agent or solvent (co-solvent) can also be useful for the formulation, for example cyclohexanone in an amount of 2 to 10%.
The use of the emulsifiable composition according to the invention can be carried out by dilution in water at
<EMI ID = 9.1>
more concentrated in case of ULV application. Illustration of the use of insecticide
<EMI ID = 10.1>
<EMI ID = 11.1>
<EMI ID = 12.1>
<EMI ID = 13.1>
It should be noted that the addition of other active constituents in addition to those mentioned also falls under the invention. Thus, oily or resinous extracts of plants in general or certain residues from the production of soaps from fatty acids and which may generally be available in large quantities at very low prices also fall within the scope of the invention. These competing products in particular, in addition to their own insecticidal action, have better photostability of the pyrethroids in the composition after its application. Other UV filtering agents A or B can also be used.
