<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
US 4.150.062); et - sur ZSM-12 (brevet US 4. 254. 295).
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
indice d'octone.
EMI3.2
l'eou dons l'étoupe (1) ; (3) focvltotivement, enlèvement de tout ou partie des hydro- corbures normalement gazeux hors de l'effluent ;
(4) mélonge de l'effluent avec du méthanol ; (5) mise en contoct, dans des conditions d'etherificotion, du mélange resultant de-l'étope (4) ovec un cotolyseur échangeur cotionique acide ;
EMI3.3
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
EMI4.2
<tb>
<tb> isobutone <SEP> de <SEP> 0 <SEP> 6 <SEP> 40 <SEP> % <SEP> (en <SEP> poids)
<tb> n-butone <SEP> de <SEP> 5 <SEP> Ò <SEP> 30 <SEP> %'
<tb> l-butène <SEP> de <SEP> 10 <SEP> a <SEP> 30 <SEP> %
<tb> 2-butènes <SEP> de <SEP> 15 <SEP> 8 <SEP> 35 <SEP> %
<tb> isobutène <SEP> de <SEP> 0 <SEP> 6 <SEP> 50 <SEP> %
<tb>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
EMI7.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>

The present invention relates to a process for the production of gasoline having an improved octone number.
More and more countries impose the use of either unleaded petrol or petrol with a reduced lead content. It therefore became necessary to look for ways to improve the octone number of species.
Essences are generally prepared by clossic oligomersis of olefinic hydrocarbons in the presence of cotolysers based on phosphoric acid. These essences are mainly formed of dimers. Their octane number is improved by adding lead-free additives, among which methyl-tert-butyl ether (MTBE) is most often used. Other additives, such as methyl-tert-omylic ether (TAME), and other types of additives, such as alcohols, have also been tried.
More recently, essences have been prepared by oligomerisotion processes which consist in transforming normally gaseous olefins (alone or in mixture with paraffins) into olefinic essences by storage on various cotolysers of the "pore size crystalline siliceous molecular tomis" type. medium ", as described in US Pat. No. 4,417,088. These cotolysers comprise two lugs:
EMI1.1
- crystalline aluminosilicates, commonly called "zeolites", which contain significant quontites of olumine in addition to silica; and - polymorphic crystalline silicas, practically free of alumina, for example silicolite.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
One of the main advantages of these recent methods resides in the higher hourly liquid spot velocities (LHSV), typically between 30 and 40, which can be used, whereas the conventional methods of oligomerisotion on cotolysers containing phosphoric acid. Typically only allow LHSVs from 1 to 4. A further advantage is that the crystalline siliceous molecular sieves can be regenerated, or conversely cotolysers based on phosphoric acid.
We have already described numerous oligomerization processes on zEolites, for example: - on ZSM-5 having a controlled acidity and reduced flavoring properties (US Pat. 3,960,978); - on ZSM-4, ZSM-12, ZSM-18, Chobasite or Zeolite beta (US patent 4,021,502); - on ZSM-5 cotolysers in the presence of eou (patent
US 4,150,062); and - on ZSM-12 (US patent 4,254,295).
Polymorphic cristolline silicas have also been used in oligomerization procedures - on silicolite (US patents 4,414,423 and US 4,417,088); and - on cristollin borosilicate (US patent 4,451,685).
However, the octone number of the olefinic essences obtained by the above processes is not sufficient, and it is therefore necessary to add lead-free additives to them such as MTBE or TAME.
There is therefore a need for a process for the production of gasoline having an improved octone number, which would require the addition of little or no anti-detonating additive.
The subject of the invention is a process for the production of petrol with a better octone number.
It also has for object a process integrated in several elopes to produce gasoline have a better
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
octone number.
It also relates to a process for the production of gasoline where it is necessary to add less additive onti-detonont, or even no additive at all.
The process of the invention for producing petrol consists of the 6topes of
EMI3.1
(1) placing in contact, under oligomerization conditions, of a throat composed essentially of one or more alkenes and, in focus, of one or more olcones, having from 2 to 6 atoms of corbone o with a consistent cotolyser in a siliceous crystalline molecular sieve of medium pore size, focultotively in the presence of water; (2) removal of the eou out of the effluent, if an used
EMI3.2
eou don the tow (1); (3) focotively, removal of all or part of the normally gaseous hydrochlorides from the effluent;
(4) mixing the effluent with methanol; (5) placing in contact, under etherificotion conditions, the resulting mixture of etope (4) with an acidic cotion exchange exchanger cotolyser;
EMI3.3
(6) extracting the residual methanol from the etherified effluent; (7) distillation of etherified effluent free of methanol; and (8) recovery of a gasoline have a better octone number.
The Applicant has now found, unexpectedly, that by producing gasoline by the process of the invention, its octane number is rumored to be improved.
The process of the invention o the advantage of providing gasoline having an octane number which is improved by
EMI3.4
very often compared to the gasoline produced by: oligomerization on a molecular siliceous crystalline sieve with medium pore size. Give the preferential conditions,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
the process of the invention has even provided petrol with an octane number at least as good as that of petrol obtained by the bulk process of oligomerization on cotolyser containing phosphoric acid. This is more unexpected than the etherification of the latter.
EMI4.1
gasoline does not improve its octone number.
As shown below, the ovontoges of the process of the invention result from the combination of steps as described.
The fillers used for the process of the invention are composed of one or more oicenes having 2 6 6 atoms of corbone, focusing in the presence of one or more alkanes whose number of atoms of corbone is included in the same field .
The throat used for the process of the invention is preferably a mixture of. butanes and butenes. including:

and can contain up to 5% heavier and / or lighter hydrocorbides. The composition of the charge depends on its origin.
As an example of typical chorges, mention may be made of C4 chorges free of isobutene pravenont from an MTBE production unit, the C. charges coming from a catalytic crunching unit, and even the C4 cuts coming from a

steam bites (after removing the butadiene).
However, these last two types of chorges are more and more used to produce MTBE by reaction of isobutene with methonol, leaving melonges composed mainly of butanes and n butenes in approximately equal weight quantities. These mixtures are preferably used as throat for the process of the invention.

The oligomerization reaction is carried out in a known manner on a siliceous crystalline molecular sieve with medium-pore size.
These materials have the property of sorting the molecules based on their size and / or shape. The siliceous crystalline molecular tomis with medium pore size are able to differentiate from one port the rumbling molecules and the molecules contain quaternary corbones, and from the other side the small molecules. For medium pore size, we mean a you here. about pores
EMI5.1
0.5 to 0.65 nm when the molecular sieve is in H form, 10 preferred cloth is approximately 0.53 to 0.62 nm.
Although ölgomerisotion can be carried out in the presence of silicolite, it is preferable to use halogenated stabilized silicalite; this cotolyser and its preparation process are described in the patent patent entitled "Process for the stabilization of cotolysers of the type silicolite "and deposited on the same day or name of the Applicant.
The oligomerization step can be carried out on zeolite, as described in the prior art, preferably on zeolites having a low Al / Si ratio.
However, the essence obtained by 1. process of the invention o an octone number which is less improved when o a zeolite is used in the oligomerization step.
Water can be added to the oligomrization phase, since it generally improves the stability of the catalyst. In addition, the octane number of the gasoline obtained by the process of the invention is generally improved por the use of water during oligomerization.
The oligomerization reaction is carried out under well known conditions. Typically, the pressure can range from atmospheric pressure to around 60 bars (6 MPa), preferably from 36 to 20 bars (0.32 MPa) and more particularly around 15 bors (1.5 MPa). High pressures tend
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
to improve the yield of the process gasoline, while the low pressures tend to improve the octone number of the process gasoline. La Oemonderesse has found that the highest pressures up to 60 bors (6 MPa) should only be used if the cotolyser is a hologenated silicolite.
Furthermore, it is economically advantageous for the pressure during the oligomerization tow to be of the same order of magnitude as during the eth6rificotion stage.
The oligomerization step is generally carried out at a temperature of 200 to 500 ° C., but preferably between 250 and 450 ° C. and in particular at around 350 ° C. if silicalite is used (whether or not it is stabilized), and preferably between 200 and 350 C and in particular around 280 C if a zeolite is used.
The hourly liquid hourly spot speed (LHSV) of the throat is typically from 2 to 20, but the Applicant has found that LHSV thieves can be threatened with as high as 50.
When using eou during the oligomerization stage, it is generally added to a molar water / charge ratio of 0.5 to 1.5, preferably from 0.5 to 1.0 and more particularly of around 0, 7. However, the idea of adding eou is counterbalanced by the economic disadvantage and we therefore prefer to add as little eou as possible.
The oligomerisotion step of the process of the invention is more effective with a fine particle screen than with large crystalline particles. Preferably, the molecular sieve crystals or crystallites are less than about 0.01 mm. The methods for preparing molecular sieve crystals from different layers are known.
Molecular sieve crystallites can be mixed with inorgonic supports, or they can be
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
EMI7.1
use an orgonic liont. It is preferable to use an inorganic support because the soft sieves, around the large internal volume of the pores, tend to be brittle and subject to collapse and wear during normal loading and reactor discharge as well as during oligomerization. When an inorganic support is used, it is far better that it exhibits practically no hydrocarbon conversion activity.
If a support or a hydrogen transfer activity is used, a significant part of the oligomers produced by the molecular sieve can be converted into paraffins, which in large part destroys the ovantoges of the process of the invention.
If water is used in the oligomerisotion step, it must be removed from the effluent in the next step. The removal of the eou is best done by decentering the water first and then drying the hydrocorbure mixture. No separation of hydrocarbons is normally carried out at this time. However, if desired, all or part of the normally gaseous hydrocarbons can be removed, for example to recover the isobutene which can
EMI7.2
other possibilities to be tronsform6 in polyisobutne: however, the octone number of the gasoline obtained by the process of the invention is not as good if one has carried out such a Separation.
The term “normally goose hydrocarbons” is understood to mean hydrocorbides up to C. which are goose at ambient temperature under atmospheric pressure. The partial separation of normally gaseous hydrocarbons, as envisaged here, includes both the total separation of hydrocarbons having 1 to 3 carbon atoms and the partial separation of all hydrocarbons up to and including C4.
Then methanol is mixed with a mixture of hydrocarbons, in a protically equimolar amount compared to
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
or isoolefins contained in this mixture. By way of example, there may be mentioned a methanol / isoolefin molar ratio of 0.96 1, 1, preferably 0.95 1.05 and more particularly approximately 6 1. For a given throat and conditions
EMI8.1
oligomerization given, the quantity of iso-olefins in the effluent can be determined experimentally by a quantitative measurement of the content of iso-olefins in C4 to C7 in the mixture.
The etherification step is carried out in a known manner, on an acidic ion exchanger, for example on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer comprising sulfonic acid groups, in solid or suspension layer, at a temperature of 30 b 120 C , preferably from 40 to 90 C, under a pressure of 1 to 50 bors (0.1 to 5 MPa), preferably from 3 to 20 bars (0.3 Ò 2 MPo) and more particularly around 15 bors (1.5 MPa), with an LHSV of 0.05 to 10 and preferably about 1. The etherification yield decreases with high LHSV thieves, mowed that significant amounts of dimethyl ether or low LHSV are formed.
Let's give this step. the pressure and the temperature are adjusted so that the reaction takes place in liquid form.
After the etherification step, the etherified effluent is sent to a distillotion column in which the gasoline is separated from the residual hydrocarbons in C3 and C4 and methanol not being re-posed. This column has for example 30 to 80 trays, preferably 40. ö 70. It is possible to use a column with bubbling bells, a column with perforated plots, or any other distillation column comprising trays or a filling material which provide a sufficient separation efficiency. The distillation is carried out under a pressure of 1 to! 0 bors (0,! 6 1 MPo),
EMI8.2
preferably from 3 to 7 bors (0.3 6 0, 7 MPo) and more particularly from 4 d 6 bars (0.4 to 0.6 MPo).
The gasoline thus obtained has an octone number
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
improved.
A preferred embodiment of the method of the invention is described below, 6 by way of example only, with reference to the attached Figure which is a diagram of the operation of an installation which makes it possible to implement the method of the invention.
