Description
WO 01/88417 PCT/KROO/01190 VALVE UNION WITH WATER SAVING FUNCTION Technical Field The present invention relates to a valve union with a water saving function, and 5 more particularly, to a valve union with a water saving function, in a valve used to supply or cut off fluid such as gas etc., in which a through-hole part is formed in one side of a valve body, and through this through-hole part, a strainer for filtering, and a water saving sphere, and a check valve or an instrument capable of checking a quantity of fluid, etc. are installed in an on/off part provided in the valve, to thereby filter the fluid such as water etc. passing 10 through the valve and perform a saving-water function for the fluid, resulting in checking the quantity of the fluid with a prevention for a counterflow of the fluid and simply executing a replacement work of these parts without a leakage of the fluid. Background Art 15 In general, a valve for controlling a flow of fluid such as water etc. is set to a pipe line to supply the fluid such the water or gas etc. through a pipe, and this valve is connected in a screw fastening type to a middle portion of the pipe line or to a one side end of a supplier etc. Meantime, a conventional valve installed by such method has inlet and outlet 20 formed in both directions thereof, and in an inner side of the inlet and outlet, a fastening- WO 01/88417 PCT/KROO/01190 screw part is formed, and also pipes of the pipe line are respectively set to the fastening screw part. In such conventional construction, the pipe is connected thereto from one side end of the pipe line, and one side of the valve is fastened to this pipe, and then, to another side of 5 the valve, another connection pipe or a supplier etc. is fastened. That is, the valve based on the conventional construction has only a function of controlling a flow of the fluid, further, a separate filtering unit is needed to filter an alien substance etc. contained into the fluid, and a specific water saving unit is also required for saving the fluid such as water etc. because such valve does not have a water saving function. 10 Furthermore, in case the filtering and water saving units are installed, a flow of the fluid must be shielded in an installment or replacement of the units, but there is no function of cutting off the flow of fluid in using such valve. In other words, an originally supplying source of the fluid should be blocked. Therefore, such installing and replacing work is very inconvenience and a loss of the fluid is serious. 15 Disclosure of the Invention It is, therefore, an object of the present invention to provide a valve union with a water saving function, in a valve used to supply or cut off fluid such as gas etc., in which a through-hole part is formed in one side of a valve body, and through this through-hole part, 20 a strainer for filtering, and a water saving sphere, and a check valve or an instrument 2 WO 01/88417 PCT/KROO/01190 capable of checking a quantity of fluid, etc. are installed in an on/off part provided in the valve, to thereby filter the fluid such as water etc. passing through the valve and perform a saving-water function for the fluid, resulting in checking the quantity of the fluid with a prevention for a counterflow of the fluid and simply executing a replacement work of these D parts without a leakage of the fluid. Brief Description of the Drawings Further objects and advantages of the invention can be more fully understood from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings in 10 which: Fig. 1 represents a perspective view of an inventive valve; Fig. 2 illustrates a perspective view showing another embodiment of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 depicts a sectional view providing the construction of the inventive valve; 15 Fig. 4 sets forth a separate sectional view for a water saving unit in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 5 provides a sectional view representing a check valve in the invention; Fig. 6 presents a sectional view showing an operational state of Fig. 5; and Fig. 7 furnishes a sectional view indicating another embodiment of the inventive 20 check valve. 3 WO 01/88417 PCT/KROO/01190 Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. 5 In accordance with the present invention, in a ball valve type valve union used to supply or cut off fluid such as water etc., which has a handle 2 and a passage 3, a valve union with a water saving function is constructed by a characteristic that an insertion hole 4 is formed on one side face of a main body 1 of the valve, a water saving unit 5 having a strainer 6 is insertion-installed into the insertion hole 4 so as to be inserted into the passage 10 3, and the insertion hole 4 is closed by a cover 7. The water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6 is provided with a plurality of water saving holes 8 formed on one side face thereof, and one side of the strainer 6 has an installment of a pin 9. The passage 3 has an installment of a check valve 10. The check valve 10 is provided with a nonreturn side 11 set in one side thereof, with 15 a packing 13 interposed in one directional position of the nonreturn side 11, and with a control sphere 12 formed in a slant state. It may be also constructed that an elastic unit 14 is installed between the nonreturn side 11 and the control sphere 12, and that a fluid quantity checking instrument is set in the insertion hole 4 to check a flowing quantity of the fluid. Such inventive construction is utilized to supply or cut off the fluid such as water 20 etc. That is to say, in the ball valve type valve union having a formation of the handle 2 and 4 WO 01/88417 PCT/KROO/01190 the passage 3, the handle 2 of the valve main body 1 is under a locking state and the water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6 is inserted through the insertion hole 4 formed on one side face of the main body 1, and then, the water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6 is inserted.into the passage 3 of the valve main body 1. Under such state, the insertion hole 4 5 is covered with the cover 7 and the handle 2 is changed to an unfastening state, so that the fluid such as water etc. flows. The water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6 has a formation of the plurality of water saving holes 8 and a pin 9 is installed on one side of the strainer 6, to whereby prevent the fluid such as the water etc. from excessively flowing, namely to make the fluid flow under a water saving state through a water saving operation, filtering 10 the alien substance contained into the fluid through the strainer 6, wherein the fluid such as the water etc. flows through the water saving holes 8 of the water saving unit 5. In replacing the water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6 by a new one under such inventive use thereof, the water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6 can be exchanged with another one by grasping and pulling out the pin 9 under a status that the handle 2 of the 15 valve is changed to the locking state and the cover 7 is removed. At this time, namely, in the midst of its replacement work, the fluid such as water etc. can be prevented from leaking since the valve is closed during the replacement work. Further, it is installed the check valve 10 which is provided with the nonreturn side 11, the packing 13 and the control sphere 12 formed in the slant state, in the valve main 20 body 1 through the insertion hole 4. In such constructive installment, the fluid flowing 5 WO 01/88417 PCT/KROO/01190 through the valve can flow in only one direction by an operation of the control sphere 12 and the counterflow phenomenon can be prevented by a nonreturn operation. In a case of the construction that the elastic unit 14 is set between the nonretum side 11 and the control sphere 12, the counterflow prevention operation can also be valid. Additionally to this 5 check valve, a fluid quantity checking instrument capable of checking a flowing quantity of the fluid can be installed in the insertion hole then be used. Herewith, it is more desirable that the valve is constructed as a ball valve so that a flow of the fluid can be controlled by this ball valve. 10 Industrial Applicability As afore-mentioned, in accordance with the present invention, it is formed in the valve the insertion hole into which the water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6 or the check valve is insertion-installed, and through this insertion hole, the water saving unit 5 having the strainer 6, and the check valve or the fluid quantity checking instrument etc. are 15 insertion-installed. Accordingly, the parts can be replaced by another ones simply and easily, without a leakage phenomenon, even under the installment state ofthe valve, and an alien substance contained into the fluid such as water is eliminated by the valve, together with a water saving operation. Further, it is easily applicable to a portion where a prevention for a counterflow of the fluid is required since the nonreturn operation is 20 definitely performed herein. 6 WO 01/88417 PCT/KROO/01190 It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made in the present invention without deviating from the spirit or scope of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention cover the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims 5 and their equivalents. 7
