Abstract

The invention relates to a traction device for separating two parts of a bone, in particular for lengthening a bone or bridging over a bone gap. The device has a medullary pin (1) which can be introduced into the medullary space. This pin (1) comprises two parts (2, 3) which can be moved apart axially. Each pin part can be fixed to one of the two bone parts. The device also has a driving device (4) for driving the two parts (2, 3) of the medullary pin (1) apart. In order to enhance the bone growth process and reduce strain on the treated bone, a blocking device (17, 18) prevents the two parts (2, 3) of the medullary pin (1) from coming together again.
