Description

AUSTRALIA
Patents Act 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION STANDARD PATENT MULTI-FUNCTIONAL INFLATABLE MATTRESS EMDODIMENT The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: i.n- K MULTI-FUNCTIONAL INFLATABLE MATTRESS EMBODIMENT This invention relates to an embodiment as a device to use for camping or for recreation in that it functions for the purposes of an inflatable bath, an inflatable sun-bath, an inflatable hammock-bed, an inflatable water vessel in one form of the invention and as an inflatable bed mattress with pillow section, an inflatable raft with pillow section and an inflatable bed-swing (hammock-base) mattress with integral pillow section in another form of the invention.
The inflatable mattress would be best made from a strong, waterproof and pressurized-air retaining synthetic material while the integral webbing sides and any attachment material for fasteners and rings would be best made from the same or similar material while the attached fasteners and rings would be best made of a strong synthetic (plastic related) material to make the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment durable. The valve would be best made from a strong and synthetic material. The rings, fasteners and valve can be of existing designs not unique in their embodiment for this invention.
The Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment can be deflated, rolled-up and stored in a markedly reduced size.
To assist with understanding the invention, reference will hereafter be made to the accompanying drawings which each show one example of the invention.
In the drawings: Figure 1 shows one example of the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment as an inflatable bath, as an inflatable sun-bath, as an inflatable hammock-bed and as an inflatable water vessel in profile form to illustrate the physical features of the device according to this invention; 30 Figure 2 shows one example of the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment as an inflatable bed mattress with pillow section, as an inflatable raft with pillow section and as an inflatable bed-swing (hammock- base) mattress with pillow section in profile form to illustrate the physical features of the device according to this invention; Figure 3 shows one example of the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment as an inflatable bath, as an inflatable sun-bath, as an inflatable hammock-bed and as an inflatable water vessel in an over-view form to illustrate its resemblance to the device according to this invention; Figure 4 shows one example of the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment as an inflatable bed mattress with pillow section, as an inflatable raft with pillow section and as an inflatable bed-swing (hammock- base) mattress with pillow section in an underview form to illustrate its resemblance to the device according to this invention.
\I
C'
Referring to Figure 1 it can be seen that the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment is a device according to this invention that comprises an inflated mattress 1 and 2 with an integral and non-terminal seam 3 positioned across the width and depth of one portion of the mattress creating a wall in the mattress that does not inhibit an air source from inflating the entire mattress 1 and 2.
Figure 1 also illustrates the comprisal of one of two webbing sides 4 that are each integrally joined along the flanks of 1 and 2 creating a bathing space between them with which to use with water as an inflatable bath or in which to utilize without water as an inflatable sun-bath, as an inflatable hammock-bed and as an inflatable water vessel (that can be floated upon the surface of water).
Figure 1 also illustrates the comprisal of one of two fasteners 5 and one of two fasteners 6 attached to outer flank of webbing side 4 and there is one of two rings 9 and one of two rings 10 attached for holding tying cord(s) if the Multifunctional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment is to be used as an inflatable hammock-bed with tying cord(s) passed through all the rings and under the mattress and tied to appropriate locations. An air-valve 11 can be situated anywhere on 1 and 2 as the point of entry or exit of air.
Referring to Figure 2 feature 1 comprises an inflated mattress while feature 2 automatically becomes an integral pillow section due to the design function of seam 3 and the direction of tension created by webbing sides 4 on both flanks of I and 2 after webbing sides 4 have been folded down and fastened under 1 showing one of two rings 7 and one of two rings 8 and showing fasteners 5 and 6 (although fasteners 5 and 6 have not yet been fastened to 5 and 6 from the non-illustrated webbing side 4 on opposite flank of 1 and 2) allowing tying cord(s) to be passed through rings 7 and 8 if the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment is to be used as an inflatable bed-swing (hammock-base) mattress by passing tying cord(s) through all rings 7 and 8 and under 1 and tying such tying cord(s) to appropriate locations.
Referring to Figure 3 the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment is illustrated in over-view as an inflatable bath, as an inflatable sun-bath, as an inflatable hammock-bed and as an inflatable water vessel (resembling that of a form of a small inflatable boat).
Referring to Figure 4 the Multi-functional Inflatable Mattress Embodiment is illustrated in under-view as an inflatable bed mattress with pillow section, as an inflatable raft with pillow section and as an inflatable bed-swing (hammock-base) mattress with pillow section showing webbing sides fastened under the mattress by the fasteners.

Claims (7)

1. A multi-functional inflatable mattress embodiment device comprising an inflatable mattress with an integral and non-terminal seam and integrally joined webbing sides to form the embodiment of an inflatable bath, an inflatable sun-bath, an inflatable hammock-bed and an inflatable water vessel with attachment material for attached fasteners for fastening and for attached rings for holding tying cord(s).
2. The multi-functional inflatable mattress embodiment device of claim i wherein fasteners are attached to the outer flanks of the webbing to allow for the device to be folded down by the webbing and fastened into the embodiment of an inflatable bed mattress with integral pillow section, an inflatable raft with integral pillow section and an inflatable bed-swing (hammock-base) mattress with integral pillow section.
3. The multi-functional inflatable mattress embodiment device of claim 1 wherein rings are attached to the outer flanks of the mattress and to the outer flanks of the webbing to allow for the device to be utilized as a hammock-bed when in the embodiment of such if tying cord(s) are used in appropriate set mode and to be utilized as a bed-swing (hammock-base) mattress if tying cord(s) are used in appropriate set mode.
4. The multi-functional inflatable mattress embodiment device of claim 1 wherein the inflatable mattress and webbing are made from a strong, waterproof and pressurized-air -retaining synthetic material.
The multi-functional inflatable mattress embodiment device of claim 1 to 4 wherein the attaching material for fasteners and rings are made from a strong synthetic material.
6. The multi-functional inflatable mattress embodiment device of claim 1 to wherein the fasteners and rings are made from another strong and synthetic material.
7. The multi-functional inflatable mattress embodiment device substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Joshuahn Jackstonburg. 26 July 2000. i\ *1l:
