PATENTS ACT 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION FOR A PETTY PATENT (original) Name of Applicant: TSUNG-MING HUANG Actual Inventor: TSUNG-MING HUANG Address for Service: MADDERNS, 1st Floor, 64 Hindmarsh Square, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia Invention Title: "EASY ADJUSTING MEANS FOR CRIB BALUSTRADE" The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me.
tDIP-~Y~Yl~r~l EASY ADJUSTING MEANS FOR CRIB BALUSTRADE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to an easy adjusting means for crib balustrade, particularly to an easy adjusting means disposed at front frame of a crib for easy adjusting height of the baluster.
A crib is a well-known safety place for protecting a baby against any accident when playing or sleeping, and it requires no more reiteration as regards importance of baby's security here.
However, a decent and considerate design of the crib is still meaningful to the parents, for example, a baluster height adjustable crib is more convenient for lifting a baby from the crib.
An average baluster height adjustable crib is usually provided with a recessed rail at both sides with plural insertion openings for the baluster to reside via a simple insertion mechanism for height choice.
Nevertheless, the foregoing mechanism usually needs more components with relatively complicate design that results in a higher production cost and breakdown possibility.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION For eliminating abovesaid defects, this invention is proposed to provide two sets of easy adjusting means disposed correspondingly at front frame of a crib for more convenient adjustment of the baluster and for lower production cost.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Fig. 1 is a schematic view showing exploded structure of this invention.
Fig. 2A is a partial elevational perspective view of this invention.
Fig. 2B is another partial elevational perspective view of this invention from a different visual angle.
Fig. 3A is a schematic view showing pressing action of a limited stop piece of this invention.
Fig. 3B is a cutaway sectional view along line IIIB-IIIB in Fig. 3A.
Fig. 4A is a schematic view adjusting action of a sliding block of this invention.
Fig. 4B is a cutaway sectional view along line IVB-IVB in Fig. 4A.
Fig. 5 is a schematic view showing an embodiment of this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED
EMBODIMENT
As shown in Fig. .1 2A, and 2B an exploded structural view, an elevational perspective view, and another elevational perspective view from a different visual angle, this invention is disposed at a proper position each on a upright post 51, 51' in a crib frame 5 (refer to Fig. 5, 51' not shown). This invention comprises an upper and a lower position regulators 1, 2, a guide post 3 disposed between the position regulators 1, 2, and a slidable block 4 coupled with a baluster 53 of the crib frame movable along the guide post 3.
The upper position regulator 1 is located on top of the upright post 51, and a sliding receptacle 12 is provided in a slide bearing face 11 of the upper position regulator 1, wherein an insertion groove 13 is formed on a lateral inner wall 121 at front end of the sliding receptacle 12.
The lower position regulator 2 is located at a proper position below the upper position regulator 1, and a slide bearing face 21 thereof is provided with a sliding groove 22, wherein an insertion groove 23 is formed on a lateral inner wall 221 at the front end of the sliding groove 22.
Besides, a projecting joint portion 14, 24 is arranged in inner edge of the upper and the lower position regulators respectively for accommodating two ends of the guide post 3.
The slidable block 4 having a protrusive block 42 receptive in the sliding groove 22 and sliding receptacle 12 disposed on a sliding face 41 corresponding to the slide bearing face 11, 21, wherein a reception recess 43 is formed at proper position in the sliding block 4. The reception recess 43 contains a brake mechanism 44 that comprises an elastic element 441 and a limited stop piece 442 resisting against the former being inserted in the insertion groove 13, 23.
As shown in Fig. 3A, 3B, 4A, and 4B a schematic view of pressing action of the limited stop piece, cutaway section along line IIIB-IIIB, adjustment of the sliding block, and cutaway section along line IVB-IVB of this invention, when adjusting height of the baluster 53 of the crib frame 5, a user is to press down the limited stop piece 442 firstly and release it from the insertion groove 23 (13) of the lower (upper) position regulator 2 so that the sliding block 4 can be moved up or down along the guide post 3 to reenter the upper (lower) position regulator 1 and the baluster 53 of the crib frame 5 is adjusted accordingly. When the limited stop piece 442 is reentering another position regulator 1 it is forced by the elastic element 441 to keep retained in the insertion groove 13 and thereby to fix the baluster 53 of the crib frame 5 in place.
As shown in Fig. 5 a schematic view of an embodiment of this invention, one set of support beams 6 is laid between a pair of traverse beams 52, 52' (52' not shown) to permit a bed board 7 lying thereon at a height level about the same of an average bed to facilitate taking care of baby in nighttime.
In addition, plural lower position regulators 2 may be arranged to said upright post 51, 51' at decent positions, such as equally divided intervals for example, to provide more adjustable positions of the baluster 53.
Although, this invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiments, it is apparent that numerous variations and modifications may be made without departing from the true spirit and scope thereof, as set forth in the following claims.
Claims (3)
1. An easy adjusting means for a dropside of a crib, said dropside comprising a railing and said easy adjusting means being disposed at an appropriate position on a first upright post, being one of a pair of opposite upright posts of a crib frame, said easy adjusting means comprising an upper and a lower position regulator, each of which has a slide bearing face, a guide post located between said regulators, and a sliding block resting on a horizontal rail of said railing and being movable along said guide post, wherein: said upper position regulator is disposed at the top end of said first upright post, and is formed with a first sliding receptacle on its sliding bearing face, a first insertion groove being provided in an inner wall at the front end of said first sliding receptacle; said lower position regulator is disposed at an appropriate position below said upper position regulator and is formed with a second sliding receptacle in its slide bearing face, a second insertion groove also being provided in an inner wall at the front end of said second sliding receptacle; and said sliding block has a protrusive block formed on a slide bearing face thereof, said protrusive block being receptive in said first sliding receptacle and said second sliding receptacle and said sliding block being provided with a brake mechanism at an appropriate position, said brake mechanism comprising an elastic element and a limited stop piece resisting against said elastic element, one end of said limited stop piece being insertable and retainable in said first insertion groove and another end of said limited stop piece being insertable and retainable in said second insertion groove; said sliding block being movable up and down along said guide post, thereby adjusting the position of said horizontal rail; and by virtue of retention of the brake mechanism of said sliding block in said upper or lower position regulator, said horizontal rail of the crib frame can be adjusted and fixed at a desired position.
2. The easy adjusting means for a dropside of claim 1, wherein a set of support beams is laid between a pair of traverse beams of said crib frame to permit a bed board to be laid thereon at a height level about the same as that of an average bed.
3. The easy adjusting means for a dropside of claim 1, wherein a plurality of said lower position regulators is arranged at desired positions on said first upright post, such as equally divided intervals for example, to provide more adjustable positions for said horizontal rail.
