Abstract

An axle or wheel brake disk for rail vehicles is designed as a monobloc disk or as a disk formed by a hub (2) or segments and by a friction ring (1), preferably provided with inner ventilation and having hard ceramic particles distributed in an aluminium alloy matrix. The invention consists in that at least the friction ring (1), preferably also the cooling ribs (3) linked thereto and/or also the hub (2) or segments are made of a sub-eutectic AlSi base alloy reinforced by hard ceramic particles.
