Abstract

The basic element (1) of this device comprises a volume for storing at least one turn of a transmission medium, this volume being delimited by walls (2, 3, 4, 5) which exhibit interruptions thereby delimiting storage volume portions. The operations of winding or unwinding the said medium being effected by means of the said interruptions, the spaces between adjacent storage volume portions and/or the contours of the interrupted wall portions are specified so as to minimise the mechanical stresses exerted on the said medium during its winding or its unwinding. <IMAGE>
