Abstract

The invention relates to an automatic chuck comprising a chuck body (13), a plurality of jaws (15) sliding in the radial grooves (16) of the chuck body (13), a spiral crown (17) rotatingly mounted in the chuck body (13) and means for driving the spiral crown (17) in rotation with respect to the chuck body (13). The jaws (15) have teeth in mesh with the spiral crown. The automatic chuck comprises a compressed air supply ring (18); the drive means, which comprise a vane motor and a reducer, are controlled by compressed air.
