Abstract

The present invention relates to a smoothing iron with a foot (101, 201, 301) and a sole plate (103, 203, 303) in which the foot and sole plate are bonded together by an adhesive (104, 204, 304), where the space between the foot and the sole plate, which is filled with adhesive, varies at different points even without any mechanical pre-treatment or heating of the foot and/or the sole plate.
