Abstract

To separate liquid droplets from the gas flow inside a vertical pipe (1), especially in a gas washing plant in combustion gas desulphurating installations, separating slats (6) are arranged in groups and are fixed obliquely and at a certain distance in a parallel manner in relation to one another on a frame between two carrier plates (8, 9) in the gas flow pipe (1), whereby the assemblies (5) are arranged in several parallel rows and provided with rinsing tubes (7). To improve the separation performance also during the rinsing process, a slightly-inclined collection tray (11) is provided next to each of the lower ends of the separation slats (6) which have a wavy design, into which the droplets entrained during the rinsing process are conveyed.
