Abstract

For the recovery of the rhodium contained in them as soluble compounds, the distillation residues of products of the oxo synthesis are treated with oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of an alkali metal salt of a C2- to C5-monocarboxylic acid. The noble metal is then extracted from the organic phase using the aqueous solution of a complex-forming reagent, optionally after it has already been previously extracted with water on its own.
