Abstract

The invention concerns a motor vehicle element, capable of receiving an air bag (3) and having an envelope (1) provided with a seam (4) which can be torn off by inflating said air bag. The element comprises a sheath (5) for receiving said air bag, said sheath having an opening whose edges are connected to the lips of the seam capable of being torn off.
