Abstract

The invention relates to a method for processing refuse material batches and for converting carbon-containing refuse or raw materials into refuse material batches. According to the invention, the carbon-containing refuse or raw materials contained in the refuse material batches are separated from inorganic and/or metallic materials. The carbon-containing refuse or raw materials are dewatered and pelletized. The water pressed out during the dewatering process is subjected to a fermentation in one or more reactors. The biogas formed during the fermentation process is used in at least one power station in order to generate power and/or the biogas is fed to at least one pressurized reactor in which it is broken down with the refuse or raw materials which are pelletized according to the method.
