Abstract

High fidelity sound reproduction device for solving problems resulting from repairs done on a film strip. The sound read is compressed on a disc (7) with the aid of a compression circuit (28). The sound is stored in its compressed form in a memory (13). If images of the film are taken out, the memory (13) is made to skip these parts (24) when reading. Then at the output of the memory (13), the sound stored therein is decompressed by using a decompression circuit (29) so that it can be emitted. In addition, if cutting requires skipping (24) greater than the size of the memory (13), reading of sounds on the disc (7), corresponding to the images taken out, is not implemented.
