Abstract
The invention relates to a device for drying and heating air to dry solid matter such a powders, granulates, shavings, sheets, grains or the like, more particularly plastic materials, wherein the airflow required for drying is compressed by a blower (1) through the line system of the device. The device essentially comprises a drying cartridge (3 or 4) arranged downstream from the blower (1), an air heater (18) arranged downstream from said blower, a dry goods chamber or container (17) arranged downstream from the blower and a cooling device (5) arranged downstream from said chamber, which is connected with the inlet of the blower (1) on the output side. The aim of the invention is to achieve greater efficiency in the drying process and a better utilization of the drying cartridge. To this end, an additional cooling device (5a) is inserted between the blower (1) and the drying cartridge (3 or 4).
