Description

a 46 Standard Patent Application Customer Number 50007270 Provisional Application No. PP312 filed 17/03/1999 Wheel Levelling Device for Caravans, Campervans and Motorhomes This invention is designed to improve the methods of levelling or lifting wheel based objects such as caravans, motorhomes, campervans, etc. Most people use differently sized blocks stacked on each other. These blocks are not only unstable but dangerous in that, at different heights, they can displace one another causing imbalance or accident to the vehicle/person during an attempt to raise the wheel or balance the vehicle.
These problems are overcome by this invention. It provides a solid base with only one moving block, held to the main base with two arms of any strong material.
The device can be constructed from different materials recycled plastics, rubber, wood or alloys, eg. To assist with understanding the invention reference will now be made to the accompanying drawings.
oooo i Fig. 1. Step One is forward on the ground and is held in place by the arms held horizontally with locking mechanisms such as steel or aluminium bolts or screws. This diagraam shows the main base has a sloped back to have a chock effect on the wheel when Step 2 or Step 3 is required.
Fig. 2. Step One can be lifted onto Step 2 and held stable by the arms, as shown.
Fig. 3. The device is now positioned as Step 3. When Step loes back onto Step 2, it forms Step 3. The sloped back of the main base still acts as a chock or wheel stop, for safety purposes.
0000 Fig. 4. This diagram shows each level from Step 3 down to Step 1 o: o e.
Exact dimensions are not critical as the invention can be made to suit different step sizes, or other different size requirements.
