FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention are for communications when processing in any field of
distributed information system processing.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Models within the DETPAT family of applications variously include a host of data and processing models
that generally (but not always) assume equal / first-in-first-served priority processing of received
messages of any kind by a device receiving the messages. However, there are cases where processing on
a device must be particularly responsive. Where that time-critical processing is occurring on a device
with architecture accepting messages from more than one network (eg loT dedicated with redundancy
and/or other non-loT-dedicated networks) or where the same CPU-device is programmed to also
actively process local device functions of a less time-critical nature (eg dedicated graphical displays), a first-in-first-served processing basis may not be sufficient.
As such this is an extension to the invention DETPAT (separate Australian standard patent
IP#2021202215) and specialized processing management mechanisms detailed in QMakeControl
(separate Australian standard patent IP#2022259783), ParCent (separate Australian provisional patent
IP#2022903608 asserted within IntegTech (separate Australian standard application IP#2023201021)
and in IntegTechPLUSwd (separate Australian standard application IP#2023202418).
The extension includes specification of mechanisms able to check completeness of a sufficient or
preferred set of inputs (by alerting a possibly missing signal and/or missing network) as well as an ability
to check message age and continuity where advantageous to do so in order to reduce the risk of processing undetected bogus messages where the overhead of these checks is justifiable, including but
not limited to where there is a high level of hazard eg power network calculations.
It is therefore proposed as not inappropriate to assert it so that it can be included
• as a patent of addition in order to explicitly encourage standardization for block chain designs.
• As a bibliographically associated patent object for patents not yet closed off to that purpose
under Australian patenting procedures and or international agreements.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This is a further extension to the invention for implementing consistent asynchronous, non-linear,
localized, state-driven and/or condition-based procedurality in distributed information system
processing where time-critical processing must occur in a timely manner on a device :
• with architecture accepting messages from more than one network (eg loT dedicated with
redundancy and/or other non-loT-dedicated networks) or • where the same CPU-device is programmed to also actively process local device functions of a
less time-critical nature (eg dedicated graphical displays).
Essentially this requires prioritisation designation and priority management functions for
• messages that can be prioritized into correctly designated processing schemes (which will be
constructed according to an extension to the DETPAT specification);
• designation and administration of processing schemes (managed by functions extending on
those of QControlMake and ParCent) and • message sources (prioritizing access onto the principal CPU-device bus from any of what may be
multiple network bus inputs that may exist within an architecture conforming to an extended
IntegTechPLUSwd specification).
It is here proposed that in fast processingloT applications, prioritization is related to particular static
hardware/network implementations and changes between them (eg loss of a signal/network). That is,
dynamic prioritization via maintained differentiation of copies from different sources (using multiple
"heap" data definitions to indicate the different sources, as per Australian provisional application IP#
2023900027 and mentioned as part of IntegTechPLUSwd in relation to banking) for the purpose of faster
processing (eg local buffered copies rather than accessed database copies) is not envisaged by this
specification even if it may prove to be the only way to solve it.
Key PrioSab Processes
1. Messages that are designated for high speed schemes of control received by devices with only
low frequency networks are passed through only.
2. Messages that are designated for high speed schemes of control received by devices that in the
currently operating normal circumstances would be processing high speed schemes of control
(as determined by operation and the current status of the device according to : QctrlMake records of schemes of control and/or the currently operating path as determined by a relevant
ParCent managed facility) but only have low frequency networks would:
• be passed through;and
• generate an alert message devised for operation of network /device changeover
functions as they are being managed for the scheme by the relevant QctrMake records
of schemes of control and/or relevant ParCent facilities.
3. Messages that are required by high speed or high frequency schemes of control would include
data related to absolute or relative processing priority for accessible reference by device
program/s that are resident or downloadable and associated program variables for processing
messages related to initiations, calculations, accumulations and or transfers etc related to high
speed or associated schemes of control. In the message (and any recordings of it taken in
operational or application DATAREF digEStructs stacks) would be stored in the/a relevant leaf
part of the DETPAT constructed message.
4. Depending on the device and scheme of control system architecture, Priority gleaned from a
received message can be used to :
• calculate relative priority if need be; and then
• interrupt processing of another message (if the device operating system is
multithreaded); or
• empower an interrupt initiating an immediate transfers to the relevant local bus for
processing by a dedicated on-board device; or
• transfer an interrupted message to a buffer for later processing or to another device via
an interrupted pseudo pass-through message, so that the new higher priority message
can be processed instead (if deprioritised message transfer hardware delays are
sufficiently small); or
• discard the lower priority message so that the new higher priority message can be
processed instead.
5. Signal continuity can be checked by devices implementing Schemes of Control and messages
using a checked sequencing of multiple assembled (by a sub-device) or received (from another
device) sets of overlapping plus sized (potentially sub-cycle) items of data that may be being
read or messaged to the device at normal cycle rates within the appropriately resized leaf
structure containing the series of previous (sub-cycle) copies (as per IntegTechPLUSwd IP# 2023202418) for higher resolution and or faster processing.
6. Changeover of hardware redundancy is preferred to be managed separate to the high speed
scheme of control by either or both QCtrlMake and ParCent systems monitoring and checking
scheme of control messages and/or initiating and processing "offline" polling. 7. Scheme of control devices can implement changeover schemes statically (already compiled on the receiving device) or dynamically (new processing download received or requested then
received by the receiving device so long as any possible (request&)download lag is considered
acceptable)
8. Scheme of control processing changes necessitating change of variables or values can be
implemented as :
• different change-of-scheme-of-control messages with or without embedded parameters
• the same messages with different variables set by some separate relevant variable
change message
• the same message that also always carrying a variable space for a determining variable
that "overrides" or otherwise controls the "usual" variable
* can be processed in the same message in the same manner as immediately above as
part of resident TranVec processing on the device.
9. Polling (whether by the calculating/controlling device itself including of devices on its bus/es, or
by either ParCent or QCtrolMake operating devices) can be :
• Conducted using messages that are included in the relevant actual control scheme
(where duty cycle is known to be well sufficient);
• Using dedicated polling looped messages eg polmaster-pollchecked-pollmaster; or
• can include daisychaining where a targeted message is passed to one device that passes
the targeted message to the second device with its signature that is time stamped
attached on the block chain (or similar other message) and that is then passed back to
the original device or on to other subsequent devices that are also included in the daisy
chain, beforehand so that the time differences can be compared to allowable lag
variables designated for the link; and • Can be conducted continuously, periodically or at time designated "problem periods"
only; and
• Can be conducted with no Priority or at different designated-programmed priorities.
10. Poll lists can be maintained by whichever facility (ParCent, QCtrlMake or the Scheme of Control
device itself) is conducting the polling.
11. Missing signals or missing networks generate appropriate messages that can be processed and
as required passed on or consumed by any relevant device.
12. Hardware redundancy that is useful for voting applications (including where "late" votes may be
excluded due to an unacceptably long delay) need to be designated within ParCent and QCtrlMake (expanded to include relevant designations for tolerable lag as well as allowable lag)
in manner to ensure changeovers are not needlessly or mistakenly initiated.
