Description

Device for Heating a Liquid and/or for Warming Air, and Side Channel Blower
The present invention relates to a device for heating a liquid and/or for warming air. The invention furthermore relates to a side channel blower.
In the prior art, it is known to produce thermal energy from the combustion of, for example, propane, butane or Diesel fuel/gasoline fuel transferred into the gaseous state, and to transmit it to a liquid, raw water for example, or to room air via at least one heat exchanger. The combustion air required for the combustion is conveyed via blowers. So-called side channel blowers are used, for example. They have a rotatable fan wheel which causes a helical flow of the air due to the blade structure thereof. Such a blower is described in document DE 10 2004 019 868 Al. The air is guided laterally into the blower and laterally out of it. Similar air conveying devices are for example described in documents DE 41 02 715 A1, DE 198 40 635 A1, DE 10 2014 224 954 A1, DE 199 06 515 C1, DE 201 09 421 U1, DE 201 09 422 U1 or WO 2016/198 962 A2.
Due to the lateral outlet of the air, it is necessary to guide a side channel around the fan wheel. This is a constructional challenge and reduces the available space.
One object of the invention is to propose an air conveying device which is characterized by a reduced requirement with respect to the connection to other components. The air conveying device is preferably provided for a device for heating a liquid or for warming air.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by a device for heating a liquid and/or for warming air, comprising a burner device and an air conveying device, wherein the burner device generates thermal energy by the combustion of a fuel-air mixture in a combustion chamber, wherein the air conveying device conveys combustion air to the burner device, wherein the air conveying device has a carrier housing, a movable fan wheel, an air inlet, and an air outlet, wherein the carrier housing has a conveying channel which is connected to the air inlet and the air outlet, wherein the fan wheel is arranged so as to be rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the air conveying device and has a blade structure, wherein the air outlet is arranged in a central area of the air conveying device, and wherein the air outlet extends through the fan wheel.
In one configuration, the air outlet and/or the air inlet serve to allow not only air, but also a fuel-air mixture to flow out or in.
The longitudinal axis about which the fan wheel rotates extends through the central area of the air conveying device. The air or the fuel-air mixture is conveyed through the conveying channel and the blade structure from the air inlet to the air outlet and thus preferably compressed. According to the invention, the air outlet is located in the central area of the air conveying device and not on the side as in the prior art. Here, the central area and the side or lateral area are to be understood in the radial direction starting from the longitudinal axis. Due to the positioning of the air outlet, the requirement in the prior art for a channel around the fan wheel which leads to the burner device is eliminated. Rather, it is possible to arrange the burner device (and for example also the combustion chamber) axially along the longitudinal axis of the air conveying device and behind the air conveying device, a circumferentially slim arrangement being thus obtained. One advantage of the central outflow of the fuel-air mixture is that it leads to a uniform flow against the downstream burner device. In contrast to a lateral and thus one-sided flow against the downstream burner as in the prior art, this may simplify the design of the burner device. As the air outlet extends through the fan wheel, the fan wheel has the air outlet which is located in the center of the air conveying device and thus also in the center of the fan wheel.
In one configuration, the air outlet comprises a bearing component of the fan wheel, via which the fan wheel is rotatably arranged in the air conveying device.
One configuration of the device provides that the air conveying device is designed as a side channel blower. Side channel blowers or side channel compressors are sufficiently known in the prior art. However, in contrast to the invention, these have an outlet for the air or the fuel-air mixture located on one side.
One configuration of the device consists in that the air inlet is arranged at a lateral area of the air conveying device. The air thus enters the conveying channel laterally - again radially circumferentially relative to the longitudinal axis - and leaves it in the central area.
One configuration of the device includes that the air outlet extends through the carrier housing. In this configuration, the carrier housing has the air outlet which is located in the center of the air conveying device and thus also in the center of the carrier housing. In this configuration, both the air inlet and the air outlet are located in the carrier housing. In one configuration, the fan wheel is fastened to the motor such that the opening of the side of the fan wheel which has the blade structure faces away from the motor.
Furthermore, the object is achieved by the invention by a side channel blower having a carrier housing, a movable fan wheel, an air inlet, and an air outlet, wherein the carrier housing has a conveying channel which is connected to the air inlet and the air outlet, wherein the fan wheel is arranged so as to be rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the air conveying device and has a blade structure, wherein the air inlet is arranged at a lateral area of the air conveying device, wherein the air outlet is arranged in a central area of the air conveying device, and wherein the air outlet extends through the fan wheel.
The aforementioned and following configurations also apply accordingly to the side channel blower. A repetition of the explanations is therefore omitted.
One configuration of the side channel blower consists in that the air outlet extends through the carrier housing.
Specifically, there are numerous possibilities of designing and further developing the device according to the invention and the side channel blower. To this end, reference is made, on the one hand, to the claims subordinate to the independent claims, and, on the other hand, to the description below of example embodiments in conjunction with the drawing, in which:
Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of part of the device,
Fig. 2 shows a spatial representation of the air conveying device,
Fig. 3 shows an exploded view of the air conveying device of Fig. 2,
Fig. 4 shows a view onto the exterior side of the fan wheel of Fig. 2,
Fig. 5 shows a view onto the interior side of the fan wheel of Fig. 2,
Fig. 6 shows the exploded view of Fig. 3 from the opposite viewing direction, and
Fig. 7 shows a view onto the carrier housing 20.
For the sake of clarity, Fig. 1 only shows the part of the device for heating a liquid and/or warming air which is composed of the burner device and the air conveying device. The burner device 1 has a combustion chamber 10 in which a fuel-air mixture is burnt. The thermal energy thus released is transferred to the liquid or air via a heat exchanger (not shown here). The air is preferably the room air in a caravan or mobile home. The so-called combustion air required for combustion is introduced into the combustion chamber 10 via the air conveying device 2. Depending on the configuration, the air conveying device 2 conveys only the combustion air or already the fuel-air mixture into the combustion chamber 10. Furthermore, a conveying device (not shown here) is also provided which supplies the fuel, for example burnable gas in the form of propane and/or butane or Diesel/gasoline fuel converted into the gaseous state. It can be seen that the air conveying device 2 is located axially upstream of the burner device 1 and thus also upstream of the combustion chamber 10.
Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 show an air conveying device 2. Fig. 4 shows the exterior side of the fan wheel 21. The three illustrations are described jointly.
The air conveying device 2 is designed as side channel compressor. A fan wheel 21 is arranged so as to be rotatable about the longitudinal axis 25, wherein the rotations are caused by the motor 29. An axis of rotation of the motor 29 extends through the carrier housing 20 and through a central area 27 of the fan wheel 21. The fan wheel 21 and the carrier housing 20 each have an internal structure which is illustrated in the following illustrations Fig. 5 to Fig. 7. The air to be conveyed through the air conveying device 2 enters (if necessary as a part of a fuel-air mixture) the space located between the carrier housing 20 and the fan wheel 21 through the air inlet 22 and leaves it through the air outlet 23. It can be seen that the air inlet 22 is located in the lateral area 28 and that the air outlet 23 is located in the central area 27 of the air conveying device 2. The air outlet 23 and in addition a carrier structure via which the fan wheel 21 is fastened in the air conveying device 2 and the motor 29 transmits the torque to the fan wheel 21 are located in the center of the fan wheel 21. In the illustrated configuration, five further blade elements are also provided in the air outlet 23. The number of these blade elements is not limited to five, there may also be more or fewer of these blade elements.
Fig. 5 shows the blade structure 26 of the fan wheel 21 through which the air or the fuel-mixture is compressed and moved to the central air outlet 23.
The interior side of the fan wheel 21 along with the blade structure 26 can also be seen in the illustration of Fig. 6. It is clearly visible that the motor 29 projects with an axis of rotation along the longitudinal axis 25 of the air conveying device 2 through the carrier housing 20 having the lateral air inlet 22 and through the fan wheel 21 having the central air outlet 23.
Fig. 7 shows a view onto the interior side of the carrier housing 20. The conveying channel 24 can be seen, which extends from the air inlet 22 on the side 28 to the center 27 of the carrier housing 20 and opens there. The air or the fuel-air mixture is compressed by the blade structure of the fan wheel and the rotation thereof.
