Abstract
A FOLDABLE SOLAR DRYER FOR HOUSEHOLD PURPOSE
Present invention provides a foldable solar dryer for household purpose. The dryer is made with
integrated collector by means of UV protected sheet. The sheet helps in collecting the solar
radiation and removing the moisture present in the food items. The area of design is limited to
0.45 sq. meter and the height is not more than Im. The fan is used to get the forced convection
system in the dryer. The fan helps to reduce the drying time. The fan speed or the drying rate can
be controlled by means of regulator which is placed at the top and fan is place at the bottom.
Figure 1 shows the assemble view and how to dismantle the dryer can be easily understood by
figure 2. The cover is zipped to the left and right of back side of the frame which helps to open
and check the quality of the product. the open sun drying having the dust and birds fear. While
the solar dryer avoid such things and even the quality of the product can be maintained. We can
dryer the product till 100% removal or at moisture level. With the help of regulator, we can
achieve it. The performance and efficiency are good as per the design. The product is dry fastly
and with good quality.

Technical field of invention
Present invention in general relates to the field of solar energy and its application and in particular to the construction of a foldable type solar dryer for household purpose with fan and can be operate by AC supply, by battery or by solar plate. It can work even when low or no light is there for drying and ability to work even.
Background of the present invention
The background information herein below relates to the present disclosure but is not necessarily prior art.
Direct solar dryers expose the substance to be dehydrated to direct sunlight. Historically, food and clothing was dried in the sun by using lines, or laying the items on rocks or on top of tents. In Mongolia cheese and meat are still traditionally dried using the top of the ger as a solar dryer. In these systems the solar drying is assisted by the movement of the air (wind) that removes the more saturated air away from the items being dried. More recently, complex drying racks and solar tents were constructed as solar dryers. One modern type of solar dryer has a black absorbing surface which collects the light and converts it to heat; the substance to be dried is placed directly on this surface. These driers may have enclosures, glass covers and/or vents to in order to increase efficiency.
Objective of the invention
Primary object of the present invention is to provide foldable solar dryer for household purpose.
Another object of the present invention is to provide the dryer which we can use in night or even when light is low.
Yet another object of the present invention is to achieve a dryer with less area and more efficiency.
Yet another object of the present invention is to dry the product with less than 5 kg with minimum area and less time of drying.
Yet another object of the present invention is to make dryer which doesn't need insulation.
These and other objects and characteristics of the present invention will become apparent from the further disclosure to be made in the detailed description given below.
Summary of the invention
Accordingly following invention provides a foldable solar dryer for household purpose. The dryer are mostly used for industries and in agriculture farm. But its application is much more than imagination. The dryer was not prepared for household work but there is a huge requirement of dryer in each house. The dryer prepared is made up of12 inch angle and a 2 mm thick strip of mild steel. The whole dryer can be folded and can be placed under the sofa or bed in the house. The dryer needs more area to dry but the dryer is prepared in such a way that it will take very less area (0.45 m2) and height not more than Im. The invention doesn't decrease the performance the performance is maintain with the forced convection system. A fan is used for transferring the hot air. The dryer is prepared for the capacity of 5kg. There are 5 trays in the dryer and a provision is made for the sixth tray. A UV protected sheet is used to cover the dryer. The regulator is used for controlling the air flow rate. The temperature in the dryer is not more than 500 C. there is no need of insulation for this dryer.

1 denotes the left-side frame made with angle. 2 denotes the right-side frame made with angle. 3. denotes angle holding arrangement in left and right-side frame. 4. denotes the angle connecting the left and right frame from bottom. 5. denotes the angle connecting the left and right frame from top. 6. denotes the strip connecting the left and right frame from top. 7. denotes the assembly arrangement of angle and strip made to connect the front side of dryer. 8. denotes the fan placed in no. 7. 9. denotes the tray with net 10. denotes the regulator for varying the fan speed. 11. denotes the infra-red-light arrangement.
Figure 2. shows the dismantle view of the solar dryer, this help to understand how to dismantle and assemble the dryer.
In order that the manner in which the above-cited and other advantages and objects of the invention are obtained, a more particular description of the invention briefly described above will be referred, which are illustrated in the appended drawing. Understanding that these drawing depict only typical embodiment of the invention and therefore not to be considered limiting on its scope, the invention will be described with additional specificity and details through the use of the accompanying drawing.
Detailed description of invention
The present invention provides a small solar dryer which is foldable for household purpose. The invention occupies less space and used fan for forced convection system which improves the drying rate. This innovative design is made for the household purpose. Which is less costly and more durable and lighter in weight.
The solar dryer is composed with the collector. Figure 1 shows the brief about it. The whole dryer is covered with the UV protected sheet which help in maintaining the quality of the product. The dryer is made light in weight by using half inch mild steel angle. The dryer is made for household product and can be used for any type of drying even for removing insect from serial, pulses and other items can be used. The drying rate can be adjusted by means of regulator which is placed at the top as shown in figure 1. The fan used to increase the drying by circulating the air in the dryer. The UV protected sheets allow the hot rays to be present in the dryer only and air helps to remove the moisture from the food items. The UV sheet cover the whole dryer from top to bottom. The infra-red bulb arrangement is placed on top of the dryer. This arrangement helps to use the dryer even if the light is low or no light is there. Various reading was taken to get to know how much time it will take to dry the food item. The temperature of the dryer is maintained upto 500 C which is suitable for domestic purpose.
The proposed design gives better performance as well efficiency for drying the food item. The application of the design dryer is not limited to one product it can be used for all household items. The dryer can be dismantled easily by removing few screws and can be placed anywhere in the house. The dryer can be placed at any place where sunlight is coming even in the gallery. The area occupies by the dryer in assemble mode is upto 0.45 m square and after dismantle it can be placed below the sofa or bed. The dryer is design in such a way that there is no need to use insulation. This helps in reducing the cost of the dryer.
Additional advantages and modification will readily occur to those skilled in art. Therefore, the invention in its broader aspect is not limited to specific details and representative embodiments shown and described herein. Accordingly, various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the general invention concept as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
Claims (4)
1. A foldable solar dryer comprises; the left-side frame and right side frame made with angle which gives support to dryer, The solar dryer is composed with the collector. The whole dryer is covered with the UV protected sheet which help in maintaining the quality of the product. The dryer is made light in weight by using half inch mild steel angle. The drying rate can be adjusted by means of regulator which is placed at the top.
2. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein the fan used to increase the drying by circulating the air in the dryer. The UV protected sheets allow the hot rays to be present in the dryer only and air helps to remove the moisture from the food items.
3. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein the UV sheet cover the whole dryer from top to bottom. The infra-red bulb arrangement is placed on top of the dryer. This arrangement helps to use the dryer even if the light is low or no light is there. Various reading was taken to get to know how much time it will take to dry the food item.
4. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 the temperature of the dryer is maintained upto 500 C which is suitable for domestic purpose.
