Support Brief
Throughout their lives, most women will experience pain linked to their reproductive system, whether due to surgery, childbirth, endometritis, other chronic illnesses, or painful periods. At present, the most common non-medicated solution available to them to ease the pain is hot and cold therapy, specifically in the form of a hot water bottle or hot & cold pack placed freely over the concerned area, above undergarments, which will most likely keep them immobile for the duration of the treatment.
This invention was specifically designed to provide women with a much more comfortable and practical solution that would bring direct relief to the area that needs soothing while allowing women to keep moving and doing what they love most.
A support brief in accordance with this invention comprises a woman's brief with a built-in pocket designed to hold a hot & cold pack anywhere needed for pain relief over the pelvic area, down the crotch, and/or the lower back.
The brief can be made of a single layer of fabric with the pocket design made of an additional layer of fabric sewn on top allowing the insertion of a hot & cold pack over the concerned area. The pocket design does not have a seam in the crotch preventing a hot & cold pack to be worn in this particular area or the lower back. The brief can also be made of a double layer of fabric with the pocket design consisting of a slit in one of the two layers, allowing the insertion of the hot & cold pack anywhere needed.
The brief is high-waisted and the fabric supportive enough to provide soft support of the lower abdomen area and securely hold a hot & cold pack. It is preferably breathable and moisture-wicking, keeping the user dry and comfortable.
The opening of the pocket is of such a size and position that a hot & cold pack can easily be inserted and securely placed over any concerned area.
The brief is reversible allowing the pocket design to comfortably be worn outside for ease of reach, or inside for aesthetic purposes.
The top edge of the brief can be folded on itself to provide further support to the area and the hot & cold pack.
The brief has a widened gusset to easily accommodate a hot & cold pack in the crotch area.
