.0 FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention is related to a head cover mask (100) for protecting a user from the hazardous environmental conditions, and more specifically to the technique of measuring body temperature and oxygen saturation level in the blood.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
.5 The mask is an item of personal protective equipment (PPE). It aims to protect a user's entire face or sometimes part of it from the hazards such as flying objects, road-debris, chemical splashes in laboratories or in industry and potentially infectious materials as in medical and laboratory environments. The harmful air contaminants suspended in the air that we inhale are fatal and pose challenges on our health. Also, when the flying bugs and mosquitoes that may try .0 to hide in the person's hairs when the person is riding a bike, a cycle, a scooter or may be walking, is very problematic. During cycling and mountaineering, and such similar physical activities, the user may need a device which can continuously monitor the health condition of the user.
The masks that are available in the market do not possess any means to measure the health conditions of the user, while the user is exposed to the hazardous environmental conditions. This is an important requirement for the user for keeping a check on the user's health conditions. This is also very important for the user who is suffering from any kind of serious medical health condition.
In the present times, the newly discovered coronavirus (Covid-19) is at its peak. The coronavirus is spreading at the fastest pace and this has put almost every person in a danger zone. The use of the mask is a must for at least people from the virus-prone areas and is an inevitable element for the medical professionals, who are day and night exposed to the coronavirus affected patients. The symptoms of COVID-19 are so common that almost every individual is wondering whether he is suffering from the virus. The symptoms include normal fever, dry cough and tiredness. But, in most cases they include normal cold and hence becomes very difficult to distinguish from the symptoms of cold that the person is suffering from coronavirus. Therefore, it becomes necessary for the user to be able to keep a check on his health conditions on a regular basis, so that in case .0 the user is affected from the coronavirus disease, a right decision can be made at the right time. The aforementioned purpose can be solved with the help of two common devices, a thermometer and an oximeter. These devices will assist in determining whether a patient or the user is suffering from the coronavirus.
There is a need for a device that can continuously monitor the user's heath conditions while .5 protecting the user from the environmental hazards.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides a head cover mask (100) that can continuously monitor the body temperature and the blood oxygen levels of the user while protecting the user from the environmental hazards. The head cover mask (100) has a protective covering (101) for the full .0 head, including forehead, nose, mouth and neck covering, except for the eyes that are kept uncovered. The covered parts of the face in the head cover mask (100) are more prone to get affected from the hazardous environmental conditions. The head cover mask (100) is having a temperature sensor (201) at the inner side of the head cover mask (100) so as to touch the user's forehead. The temperature sensor (201) continuously senses the body temperature of the user wearing the head cover mask (100). The head cover mask (100) is also provided with a nasal oximeter sensor (205) at the inner side of the mask, covering the nose of the user, for measuring the oxygen saturation values. The nasal oximeter sensor (205) coupled to the head cover mask (100), continuously monitors the oxygen saturation levels in the blood of the user wearing the head cover mask (100). The head cover mask (100) is having a display unit (103), located at the center of the forehead portion of the head cover mask (100), for the display of measurement readings. The display unit (103) is a divisional screen for the simultaneous display of the measurement readings from both, the temperature sensor (201) and nasal oximeter sensor (205). The display unit (103) is further, coupled to a processor (203) for the processing of the readings received from the temperature sensor (201) and the nasal oximeter sensor (205). The display unit (103) is coupled to the processor (203). The processor (203) is further coupled to the temperature sensor (201). The measurement readings of the temperature sensor (201) and nasal oximeter sensor (205) are continuously transmitted to the processor (203) and then through the processor (203), to the display unit (103) for display. The displayed measurement readings of the user can be read by a co-mate of the user.
.0 The main advantage of the proposed head cover mask (100) is in providing a platform for continuous monitoring of the health condition of people working in groups. For e.g., with fellow colleagues in an office, industry, adventure tours, cycling etc. So, that the co-mate working together checks the health conditions of each other. The other advantage comes as in monitoring the health condition for an individual as per the Covid-19 protocol. The parameters like the body .5 temperature and the oxygen saturation level in the blood, need to be monitored for the prediction of the coronavirus symptoms.
The market potential for this device is very high, and this type of device is not only useful for medical practitioners but also for people working in groups, factory, office, mines or on an adventure tour, cycling etc. The original worth of the device comes in saving human life by '0 continuously keeping a watch on the general health conditions of an individual.
