Abstract

A safety light used on a bicycle comprises a light source attached to the spokes near the rim of the wheel and a battery mounted on the hub of the wheel, the light source being electrically connected to the battery. Figure 1

Description

SAFETY LIGHT USED ON A BICYCLE BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This invention relates to a bicycle wheel safety lamp which can be seen from all angles of the bicycle.
[0002] Bicycles being ridden during the night can be seen front and the rear with the correct lighting. However in a poorly lit area even with wheel reflectors a bicycle cannot be seen from the side.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] Therefore it is an object of the present invention to provide a safety light used on a bicycle to overcome the above-mentioned disadvantages.
[0004] The present invention has a safety light used on a bicycle comprises a wheel safety lamp attached to the spokes near the rim of the wheel and a battery mounted on the hub of the wheel, the wheel safety lamp being electrically connected to the battery.
[0005] In another preferred embodiment, wheel safety lamp is comprised of a bulb surround by light diffusers.
[0006] In another preferred embodiment, the battery is installed in a battery carrier.
[0007] In another preferred embodiment, battery carrier is fixed on the wheel by two retaining straps.
[0008] The present invention can be more fully understood by reference to the following description and accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0009] Fig. 1 is a perspective invention view of a safety light used on a bicycle wheel; [0010] Fig. 2 shows the battery carrier fixed to the wheel hub; [0011] Fig. 3 shows the bulb housed in the light diffuser attached to the spokes.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0012] Referring to Fig.l to Fig.3, the wheel safety lamp 5 is comprised of a bulb 4 surrounded by light diffuser 9, this is situated towards the rim of the wheel and is attached by clips 8 to two spokes. The power source is a battery by housed in a battery carrier 1, this is attached to the hub of the wheel secured by two retaining straps 6 (similar to cable ties). The electricity runs from the battery carrier via a wire 3 which is fastened to the spoke by clips 2.
