Abstract

In a supporting frame which is intended for being placed onto a crossmember pair of a rack and has two angled profile rails (22) and a plurality of C-profile rails (21) which run transversely with respect thereto, a mesh floor (10) can be integrated as anti-drop means in such a way that it bears against the underside of the C-profile rails (21), whereas supporting rods (13) which are welded to said mesh floor (10) and protrude beyond the dimension thereof rest on the angled profile rails (22). The mesh floor (10) is therefore fixed firmly in the supporting frame without fastening means.

Description

Description Prior Art WO 2011/124383 A1 discloses a support frame for being placed on a pair of transverse beams of a shelf, the support frame having at least two L-profile bars and a plurality of C-profile bars extending transversely thereto and having flanges connected to the L-profile bars. DE 88 02 840 U1, DE 20 2005 004 915 U1, DE 20 2005 001 681 U1 and DE 1 915 671 U disclose gratings having grating bars which extend transversely to each other and a plurality of strut bars, wherein the strut bars extend parallel to the plane of the grating, are connected to the grating bars, and project laterally from the outline of the grating on two sides thereof.
Summary of the invention
The invention provides a support frame for being placed on a pair of transverse beams of a shelf, which includes at least two L-profile bars and a plurality of C-profile bars, which extend transversely to the L-profile bars and have flanges connected to the L-profile bars, wherein a grating is inserted between the L-profile bars and the C-profile bars, the grating having grating bars extending transversely to each other and a plurality of strut bars connected to the grating bars and extending parallel to the plane of the grating, each strut bar projecting laterally from the outline of the grating on two sides thereof and extending between both flanges of a C-profile bar.
Preferred embodiments of the present invention provide a support frame with a grating, for instance as a fall-through protection in a shelf, wherein the grating can be mounted in the support frame without connecting or fastening means and without substantial mounting expenditure.
In the preferred embodiments of the invention, the grating is inserted into the support frame in such a way that it is held in the downward direction by placing the grating bars on the L-profile bars and in the upward direction by the grating bars abutting the lower side of the C-profile bars. By screwing the C-profile bars to the L-profile bars of the support frame, the grating is immovably fixed therebetween.
Brief description of the drawings
An embodiment of the invention will be explained with reference to the drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 is a plane view of a grating;
Fig. 2 is an end view of the grating;
Fig. 3 shows the shelf support frame with an integrated grating, seen from below; and
Fig. 4 is an enlarged end view of part of the support frame with the integrated grating.
Detailed description of an embodiment
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the grating 10 consists of longitudinal grating bars 11, transverse grating bars 12 welded to, and extending at right angles to, the longitudinal grating bars, and strut bars 13 which extend parallel to the longitudinal grating bars 11 and are welded to the transverse grating bars 12 on the side facing away from longitudinal grating bars 11. In the present embodiment, the grating 10 has a total of three strut bars 13 of which one is disposed at the transverse centre of the grating 10 and the other two are disposed at a distance from the lateral edges thereof.
As shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the support frame consists of perforated C-pro-file bars 21 which extend in the longitudinal direction, i.e. in the direction of the depth of the shelf for which it is intended, and L-profile bars 22 which are disposed on the perforated C-profile bars 21 and extend at right angles thereto. The L-profile bars 22 are screwed at 24 to flanges 23 of the C-profile bars 21 which extend toward each other. The present embodiment includes two L-profile bars 22, the mutual spacing of which is somewhat smaller than the spacing between the transverse beams of the shelf, and five C-profile bars 21 of which one is disposed at the centre and one pair lies near either end of the L-profile bars 22.
When the support frame is screwed together, the grating 10 is inserted into the same in such a manner that its transverse grating bars 12 abut the lower sides of the flanges 23 of the C-profile bars 21 and the strut bars 13 rest on the L-profile bars 22. In the depth direction, the grating 10 is sized so that it fits between the L-profile bars 22, while its strut bars 13 project therefrom. The strut bars 13 are so attached to the grating 10 that any one of them extends between both flanges 23 of a C-profile bar 21.
In this way, the grating 10 is immovably connected to the support frame without additional fixing or locking means.

Claims (4)

  1. THE CLAIMS DEFINING THE INVENTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
    1. A support frame for being placed on a pair of transverse beams of a shelf, which includes at least two L-profile bars and a plurality of C-profile bars, which extend transversely to the L-profile bars and have flanges connected to the L-profile bars, wherein a grating is inserted between the L-profile bars and the C-profile bars, the grating having grating bars extending transversely to each other and a plurality of strut bars connected to the grating bars and extending parallel to the plane of the grating, each strut bar projecting laterally from the outline of the grating on two sides thereof and extending between both flanges of a C-profile bar.
  2. 2. The support frame of claim 1, wherein the grating bars abut the flanges of the C-profile bars and the portions of the strut bars projecting beyond the outline of the grating rest on the L-profile bars.
  3. 3. The support frame of claim 2, wherein the length of the grating bars extending in the direction of C-profile bars is smaller than the spacing between the L-profile bars.
