EDITORIAL NOTE 2014101480 There are three pages of description only TITLE: FITTED BED SHEET INVENTOR(S) AND RESIDENCE: Robyn Lea Jones 1154 Oakey Flat Road, Narangba, Queensland, Australia 4504 Rowland Paul Jones 1154 Oakey Flat Road, Narangba, Queensland, Australia 4504 BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0001] The present invention relates to a fitted bed sheet. A fitted bed sheet is manufactured so that it has a portion which lies on top of a mattress and includes side walls that are arranged around the peripheral wall of a bed mattress. The fitted sheet is fitted with elastic strip material, usually sewn around the lower peripheral edge of its side wall this is used to hold the edge region of the side wall under the mattress. Each fitted sheet is manufactured to fit one single size of the range of standard sizes of bed mattresses. These vary in size offering a better choice for the consumer. The elastic strip sewn into the peripheral wall edge of the fitted bed sheet, dose not cope with holding the fitted bed sheet onto the mattress. This is especially so for consumers who have restless sleeping disorders, are obese in body weight and consumers whom need to sit upright at the bed head area of their mattress. The elastic strip often becomes weaker after standard laundering and therefore creates a need for the fitted bed sheet to be replaced, even though the fabric of the fitted bed sheet is far from being worn out. A consumer with a restless sleeping condition often during sleep, will pull at the corner of the fitted bed sheet and easily pull it off The problem with the current fitted bed sheets using an elastic strip sewn into its walls is that the corner of the fitted bed sheet will rise up and peel off the mattress during use, resulting in disturbed sleep and discomfort to the consumer. The current invention has addressed the need to produce a fitted bed sheet that will stay on the mattress to cope with restless sleeping disorders, obese people, and those whom need to sit upright at the mattress bed head for varying reasons. The present invention has no elastic strip sewn into its peripheral walls edge; this eliminates a shorter lifespan that is common in other fitted bed sheets, caused by the elastic strip failing. The method used for joining the corners of the present invention fabrics has enabled the present invention to overcome the need for an elastic strip being sewn into it, and offers the consumer a broader choice for their sleeping conditions. BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0002] The embodiments of the present invention provide a fitted bed sheet which comprises a top including side walls, extensions added to the side walls and is dimensioned to fit a mattress of a given size. [0003] It is preferred the top and side walls comprise of one piece of standard cotton material. [0004] It is preferred that the extension to the side walls comprise of stretch polyester fabric. [0005] The present invention retaining edge, will not fail to hold it onto the mattress due standard laundering. [0006] The present invention is produced to help a restless sleeper, obese body weight consumer and the consumer whom requires sitting upright on the bed head of their mattress. [0007] Embodiments of the present invention use an overlap open scissor action corner. [0008] Embodiments of the present invention use a fold and pleat corner [0009] The present invention dose not use an elastic strip sewn into its edge in order for it to remain fitted to a mattress.

This corner is joined to form a miter and is completed with folds and pleats. [00015] Figure 6. Figure 6 presents the present invention 1 when fitted to the mattress. DESCRIPTION AND BEST MODE OF IMPLEMENTATION [00016] Description will be made about the embodiment in the case where a fitted bed sheet is produced using the predefined pattern and the preferred embodiments of the invention, in producing the present invention: - Fabric Material like Cotton - Fabric Material like stretch polyester [00017] Using the figures to describe, produce and implement the present invention. Figure 5 illustrates the layout of the embodiments, 1 is indicative of the top and sides of the present invention, this is a whole section cut to a predetermined pattern for a predetermined mattress as are available to the consumer. Figure 5 also illustrates embodiments 2, 2a, 3 and 3a these are sewn along the seam where they join to 1 and are of a fabric called stretch polyester. The corner section referred to at 4 is described as follows: the small lines at 4 are a folded and pleated arrangement in order to obtain a preferred corner to join 1 into itself along its seam line. This is a partial corner assembly as to allow for the producing of the preferred invention. [00018] Figure 5 the folds and pleats 4 are an industry standard folded pleat. [00019] Figure 2 illustrates the completed embodiments sewn together to produce the present invention, these are 1, 2, 2a, 3, 3a Mattress 8 is also illustrated to show the present invention as applied the view being a plan mode. Stitching lines are shown as 6 these are around the peripheral joining 1, 2, 2a, 3 and 3a. [00020] Figure 3 if we now look at 4 we can see it is a mitered join with a fold and pleat arrangement of 1. Attached to 2 and 3 these embodiments will now function in the manner invented, for allowing the cotton fabric 1 to be used in conjunction with the overlap open scissor action corner to allow for the placement and removal of the preferred invention. [00021] At this point it is relevant to explain 5 and 7 which are of 2 and 3 joined to 1 this is what is referred to as an overlap open scissor action corner to describe its function. The corner has been produced to enable the present invention to be put on and taken off a mattress. This corner is produced as follows. Extension 2 that joins onto 1 is sewn around its peripheral edge excluding the line shown at 5 noted where it overlaps the dotted line at 7 and overlaps the line at 5 as shown, also extension 3 is sewn around its peripheral edge excluding the dotted line at 7 and its line. The corner is sewn as at 6 but is not sewn at the cross over point 5 and 7. The join is now an open overlap of extension 2 onto 3 it is now referred to as an overlap open scissor action corner. [00022] Further explanation for the action of this corner is shown Figure 4. When 2 and 3 are pulled outwards and towards 4 and points 5 and 7 from the mattress 8 are stretched creating an open scissor action within it, this then allows the present invention to be removed from the mattress 8. In a like manner the present invention is also applied to the mattress to fit on. That is one corner 4 is placed on a mattress corner and each remaining corner of the present invention is pulled over using the same method. This is illustrated with the arrows on Figure 4 [00023] Figure 1 shows the present invention produced and fitted over a mattress 8 with all the embodiments sewn together 1, 2, 2a, 3, and 3a. The present invention as is illustrated will meet the requirements of a consumer with a restless sleeping disorder, an obese body weight and a consumer who frequently needs to sit upright at the bed head of a mattress. [00024] Figure 1 illustrates the produced present invention as it would be applied to a mattress; this illustration represents the present invention along with Figure 1 to give a complete view.
