Abstract

The Sandi Hands Glove consists of a versatile cotton lycra or polyester glove with a strong high grade adhesive Velcro oval attachment on the palm of the hand, along each of the 4 x fingers and thumb, which attaches to several different grades of disposable machine cut, hand shaped sandpaper pads, squeegee wash pads, and chamois pads, each with a fur backing for easy & firm attachment to the Velcro on the glove. The sandpaper attachments, which come in many grades of sandpaper for different surface finishes; squeegee wash pads and the chamois pads, are all disposable attachments. The actual glove can be used continually until it wears out completely. The "Sandi Hands" Glove for the squeegee wash pads and the chamois are made of a waterproof pliable material for comfort, durability and efficient service.

AUSTRALIA Patents Act 1990 INNOVATION PATENT SPECIFICATION SANDI HANDS GLOVE The Invention is described in the following Statement DESCRIPTION: Title Sandi Hands Glove Technical Field Sanding, Cleaning, Drying and Polishing Glove Summary of Invention [0001] For some years I have been recycling and restoring Timber Vintage and French Shab by Chic Furniture. In that time I have felt the need to make myself an easier sanding tool to assist my hard wearing and aching and arthritic working hands. The invention has been spe cifically devised in order to provide an improved sanding tool in the way of a glove, which is economical, effective and is of a readily reusable construction with disposable hand shaped pads for easier durability. Whilst using this sanding glove, I also came up with the idea to im plement the same glove for the use of cleaning, drying, and polishing to make mine and mil lions of people's trade work and housework a lot easier too. [0002] A Sandi Hands gloves, Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4, are made of cotton lycra fabric, polyester cotton fabric, and waterproof fabric which are cool, pliable and com fortable to use, with attachments, Figure 12, on the palm of the hand of high grade adhesive Velcro machine cut pieces in the shape of 4 x fingers, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 27 and 1 x thumb, 1, 12, 17, 28 and 1 x palm pad 7, 14, 23, 30 for the palm of the hand. The wrist band of the gloves are ribbed, 6, 13, 22, 29, and stretchy to form a firm hold on the hand and a comfortable fit, and to prevent dust and grime falling into the glove whilst working. The top of the glove hand 15, 16, 31, 32 is left in original condition with only a logo to enhance the image of the product.

The Sandi Hands Sanding Glove enables one to enter into tight and small hard-to-get-to areas that other sanding, cleaning or polishing tools cannot reach successfully. It also has the ability to be used on flat surfaces successfully and on edges of square or round objects. [0007] The replacement machine cut mitten shaped pads in sandpaper, squeegee or chamois fabric, are in the exact shape of the mitten shaped hand consisting of a concise shape of each 1 rounded mitten shape for the 4 x fingers and 1 x thumb down to the base of the palm of the hand, Figure 12. [0008] The sandpaper replacements in the hand and mitten shape are available in sandpaper grades from 80 up to 1200 to cater for many types of surfaces and finishes, Figure 11, Figure 12. [0009] The squeegee and chamois replacements in the hand and the mitten shape are available in several thicknesses according to the type of work required, Figure 11, Figure 12. Claims

1. A Sandi Hands glove, Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4, is made of cotton lycra fabric, or polyester cotton fabric, or waterproof fabric

2. The glove, Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4, is firm fitting to the hand for efficient workability.

3. The wrist bands of the gloves, 6, 13, 22, 29, are ribbed and stretchy to form a firm hold on the hand and a comfortable fit.

4. The gloves, Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3 and Figure 4, come in sizes Men's, Ladies', Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large

5. Each glove is finished on the palm of the hand with high grade adhesive Velcro attachments, Figure 13, shaped in 4 x finger cylinder shapes plus 1 oval cylinder palm shape, Figure 9, Figure 10.

6. Sandpaper replacement pads are in various grades of sandpaper, machine hand shaped with 4 x fingers and 1 x thumb down to the base of the palm of the hand, Figure 11.

7. Sandpaper replacement mitten pads are in various grades of sandpaper, machine hand shaped with a round mitten shape to form the 4 x fingers area plus 1 x thumb shape, down to the base of the palm of the hand, Figure 12.

8. Squeegee replacement pads are in various grades of squeegee cleaning cloth fabric, machine hand shaped with 4 x fingers and 1 x thumb down to the base of the palm of the hand, Figure 11.

9. Squeegee replacement mitten pads are in various grades of squeegee cleaning cloth fab ric, machine hand shaped with a round mitten shape to form the 4 x fingers area plus 1 x thumb shape, down to the base of the palm of the hand, Figure 12.

10. Chamois replacement pads are in various grades of chamois fabric, machine hand shaped with 4 x fingers and 1 x thumb down to the base of the palm of the hand, Figure 11. 2.

11. Chamois replacement mitten pads are in various grades of chamois fabric, machine hand shaped with a round mitten shape to form the 4 x fingers area plus 1 x thumb shape, down to the base of the palm of the hand, Figure 12.

12. The Underside of the Sandpaper Replacement Hands and Mittens, 38a are coated in a furry finish to easily and firmly adhere to the Velcro Pads on the gloves.

13. The Squeegee and Chamois Replacement Hands and Mittens will adhere to the Velcro because of their fabric content already.
