Description

BUSINESS SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTERACTIVE NETWORKING 5 BACKGROUND [0001] The present invention relates to business systems and methods of doing business and more particularly relates to a business system and method for facilitating business networking. The present invention also relates to methods 10 of doing business by interactive networking using a computer application enabling a potentially unlimited number of participants to interact with each other participant and with a host. The invention further relates to a web portal which allows on line interactive network between network subscribers to a business network. More particularly the business system relates to an automated 15 interactive network which enables a reduction in the manual steps normally required in effecting network creation by conventional methods. PRIOR ART [0002] There are in existence a variety of on line systems for conducting business including the widespread capacity for on line purchase of goods by 20 interaction with specific goods suppliers. The patent literature discloses examples of on line systems for conducting business and commercial transactions. One example of such transactions is disclosed in JP2003099643 (A) which teaches an on-line shopping system and method which can promote users to purchase who are introduced by business partners. This on-line 25 shopping system comprises a shopping server, a shopping database, the Internet, a user terminal, and a realtor's terminal. The shopping database stores presence of introduction by businesses in partnership with the user and discount information corresponding to a discount rate of selling prices of commodities. 30 [0003] Korean patent KR20100029726 (A) discloses a server apparatus for selling a product via the internet and a method for selling the product to enable a user to receive a discount on a product and enable a seller to cost efficiently 1 obtain maximum advertisement effects. The apparatus includes a communication unit which communicates with a plurality of user terminals through a network. A storage unit stores product information about products and information regarding incentives when a customer purchases a product. A 5 controller applies an monetary incentive to a user who makes the lowest bid. [0004] In another example of an on line system for selling US2012123901 (Al) discloses a method of selling replacement parts for a product over a computer network including providing a plurality of product manufacturer selection 10 options for a customer to select from, receiving a manufacturer selection of one of the product manufacturers, providing a plurality of product selections for the customer to select from, receiving a product selection of one of the products, providing a schematic illustrating a plurality of component parts of the product with associated reference identifiers, receiving a selection of at least one of the 15 component parts, providing a description of the component part selected, including at least one name for the component part and at least one part number for the component part. [0004] Another on line transaction system is disclosed in Korean patent No 20 KR20090016011 which discloses an online trade transaction system to simulate clearance procedures in accordance with each product, so as to recognize the clearance procedures before a buyer purchases a product or a seller registers the product in an online shopping mall. Korean patent KR20020075765 discloses a method and a system for on-line article transaction to enable a user to provide 25 selling information of an article and to run a program for the electronic commerce in a computer. The invention disclosed comprises input data including the information about articles inputted into more than one information provider terminal through a network. The information about articles is on-line displayed through the network. Purchasers search for the information. Japanese 30 Abstract JP2002092459 (A) discloses an on-line sales method capable of improving the capacity to search for merchandise or a service and reducing a 2 seller's loss of sales. The on-line sales method for selling and providing merchandise or service corresponding to an order received from a user terminal device through a network, when the ordered merchandise ordered by a user is out of stock, or in case the service desired by the user cannot be provided, 5 similar merchandise or service is shown to the user. [0005] Although the above examples show various forms of interactive on line transactions between consumers, none disclose a capacity for conducting transactions and obtaining and uploading information regarding buying and 10 selling goods and /or services within a subscriber/participant network populated with a potentially unlimited number of subscribers to the network and enabled by a participant app allowing uploading and downloading of information related to goods and or services provided by one or more of the participants in the network. 15 [0006] Currently there is no effective and efficient business system model or method which provides a consumer with means to register and upload information concerning goods or services related to and offered by participants to others in a subscriber network in which each participant has logged in for 20 interactive participation in the network with others in the network for conducting local and remote business when information is available to each participant about each other participant concerning the sale of goods or the provision of services. There is an ongoing need to provide improved access to networking for obtaining access to information on goods and services providers 25 who are participants in the interactive network. [0007] Currently there is no business model, apparatus or method which provides efficient networking capability by removing many of the manual steps currently necessary to establish networks and to ascertain quality goods and service providers which have a reputation based on participation in the network. 30 There is a need to address the aforesaid problems in order to increase efficiency 3 of doing business and to provide an alternative to the known methods and to reduce the time and labor in current networking. INVENTION [0008] The present invention provides an alternative to the known largely 5 individual to individual manual business networking systems and more particularly provides an on line business system for interaction of a participant within the network of participants. The present invention provides an alternative to the known systems of on line business allowing convenient networking on line. 10 [0009]_The present invention provides methods of doing business and more particularly provides a business system which enables a potentially unlimited number of participants to join an on line interactive ne work using a dedicated application capable of interaction with a web host. The invention further provides an interactive networking system for offering goods and/or services to 15 other within the network. More particularly the present invention provides a computer application which enables a potentially unlimited number of participants who have subscribed to a network to interact with and obtain goods and/or services from other participants in the network or data related to the provision of such goods and/or services. [0013] In attempting to ameliorate or eliminate the prior art problems identified above, and to provide an alternative to known business systems, the present invention seeks to provide a more efficient method of business networking by reducing time and labour in establishing contacts for either providing goods and 10 /or services or receiving goods and /or services following log in. [0014] It is an object of the present invention to increase the efficiency of business networking and to create a network which is populated by participants who provide or receive goods and /or services thereby reducing reliance on manual steps involved in conventional networking. 15 [0015] In a broad form of a method aspect, the present invention comprises: a method for on line networking within a business network of business participants, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a host website with which a potentially unlimited number of participants can interact in real time for the purpose of networking with other 20 participants in the network for the purposes of trading in goods and /or services, b) providing an app downloadable to a portable electronic device for use by a network participant to enable processing of information and data related to members of the network; 25 c) uploading/imputing information/ data to the app regarding a participant in or intending to register with the network; d) uploading said data from the app to the host web site; 5 e) establishing a data base of network participant data at a host website; e) allowing participants to interact person to person or via the host web site for 5 the purpose of networking for the purpose sale of goods and services. [0020] Throughout the specification as refer to an "app" can be taken to be a 20 reference to a software packaging which is downloaded free or at a price onto an electronic device such as a computer, ipad, I phone, smart phone, tablet or the like and which enables the user to interact with a host. [0020] In another broad form the present invention comprises: a system for gaining access to and participating in a business network via a host provider upon registration with the network; the system including an electronic 25 device for downloading an app to enable collecting of and uploading of data to the network; registering with the network to enable one participant to interact with a potentially unlimited number of participants in the network for the 8 purpose of conducting business networking with other participants registered in the network. The host site receives, stores and verifies data particulars and parameters related to the businesses provided by each participant. [0021] The present invention provides an alternative to the prior art business 5 network systems which are based on personal research and one on one personal contact and also removes the manual steps for goods and services provider identification. [0022] The portable data collection system is user friendly and convenient eliminates duplication and allows retention of network participant data for ready 10 access by a participant requiring a network member who provides goods or services. The portable electronic device minimises the numbers of steps to obtain information related to goods and services providers in the business network. Another advantage that the electronic device enables is direct interaction in real time between one participant and a potentially unlimited number of other participants logged in to the network either directly to the other participant or via a host web site. The electronic 5 device which receives and uploads data to the host or enables interactive participant communications can be selected from one or more of a computer a mobile phone iphone smart phone an ipad, a mobile tablet. Service areas to which the network applies include but is not limited to veterinary, pharmacy, building, engineering, legal, real estate retail, manufacturing, maintenance, 10 architecture, sciences, automobile, medical, retail and wholesale. [0025] The present invention provides an alternative to the known prior art and the shortcomings identified. The foregoing and other objects and advantages will appear from the description to follow. In the description reference is made to the accompanying representations, which forms a part hereof, and in which is 15 shown by way of illustration specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. These embodiments will be described in sufficient detail to enable those skilled in the art to practice the invention, and it is to be understood that other embodiments may be utilised and that structural changes may be made without departing from the scope of the invention. The following detailed 20 description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense, and the scope of the present invention is best defined by the appended claims. Although the invention and non limiting embodiments are described herein with particular reference to a business participants the computer application can be adapted for use by a variety of allied service and goods providers including traders, retail, professional, legal, 30 medical, building engineering real estate, science and technology, food, 11 restaurants, veterinary practitioners, in a variety of locations who are able to provide a good or service. [0029] Referring to figure 1 there is shown a schematic layout of the interactive 5 business network according to one embodiment of the invention. The embodiment shown is primarily directed to connecting participants in local business. Provided in the network is a host website which invites a participant to enter the network by providing log in data including a profile of the participant. Referring to figure 1 a participant 1 wishing to become a member of the 10 network downloads a dedicated application (app) 2 which allows the participant 1 to register and once registered as a member, to interact with network 4 and a potentially unlimited number of other participants. Participant 1 represents the unlimited number of persons that can gain membership to the network. Once the app 2 is downloaded, at station 3 either a new member obtains registration 15 or a currently registered member logs into network 4. Once within the network 4, the participant member is able to navigate through the network to various options. At station 5 the member can interact with the host to send a referral to another member or to receive a referral from another member. At station 6 a member is able to arrange interactions with other members for the purpose of 20 obtaining or acquiring goods or services, obtaining references or information related to goods and/or services provided by other members. At station 8 a member is able to arrange a follow up meeting or subsequent meetings direct with another member. At station 9 a participant can pursue open leads to future business. An app 2 may be downloaded to devices which accommodate apps 25 such as the ipad, and iphone, computer, television, tablet or any other electronic device capable of receiving and transmitting data. Where a computer is used for input and downloads, the computer will also have enabling data processing software. A readable device or bar code not shown can be used to facilitate input of participant to allow scanning in or instant data upload related to the 30 member/participant. Existing data may be programmed with new participant data as required. Data from a potentially unlimited number of participants may 12 be entered into the electronic device app 2. The data can be new data or newly established or augmenting existing data bases of members' data. Once collected by manual input, reading or scanning, the participant data is processed by the host 4 at which location data can be checked against member data. Network 5 Station 4 may be accessed by the electronic devices via a wireless or adsl router link to the host station 4. A plurality of network servers at station 4 may be used. Alternatively the member data may be accessed via cloud technology accessible by user ID and password to the host. A participant obtains an app which can be provided free as part of the business package. The associated app allows a user to import /upload a wide range of participant data to a central processing station and also to enable the user to obtain participant 25 listings and updates when a new participant is added. [0032] An advantage of the present invention is that a participant in the network can obtain via the network, goods or services of at least one another participant in the network so as to minimise costs and obtain an instantly available network 30 of participants. A further advantage is that the costs of business networking are minimised A further advantage of the present invention is that it reduces the risk 13 of obtaining services and goods from unreliable traders thereby reducing or eliminating the risk of substandard goods or services. A further advantage is that any participant in the network can obtain anywhere anytime instantaneous information on and interactions with other member participants. Once the data is in the electronic data storage device, the data is available to others in the network and can be uploaded to the online host web provider. The aforesaid process avoids the short comings of the prior art processing which can involves multiple personnel and weeks and even 15 months in obtaining suitable business information. This removes the current use of person to person emailing, manual inputs and processing, faxing or ordinary mailing of request for information on suitable goods and service providers. [0034] The system allows the participants to receive and store data on a 20 portable device regarding their current contact details and goods and services provided by the participant. Other data may include recommendations from other participants of other participants in the network. The enabling app allows interaction between participants for the purpose of job instructions and invoicing which makes interaction more efficient, convenient 25 and faster than conventional methods. [0035] The present invention streamlines and fully integrates business networking that is critical to the operation of all businesses. The invention integrates small and large businesses and accommodates individual traders to 30 network more efficiently and at lower business costs. 14 [0036] A major advantage is the time saving and availability of the subscriber network through a potentially unlimited number of network participants. Use of the network allows participants access to participant data on goods and services and eliminates the need to search each time a good or service is required as they 5 will be available from within the network of participants. The network allows continual updating of participant goods and services information which avoid each individual participant having to retain a private data base of providers. [0037] Another advantage of the networking is that the standard of goods and 10 services providers is retained at a high level as the participants are by participation public to the network and indirectly accountable to it to ensure that reputation for quality is preserved. The network potentially allows participants to trade in goods or services as a form of barter or currency. The network described herein improves business relationships and expands networking 15 capacity and access for participants. It provides ready access to other business owners who are connected via a common network. The network provides co operation between participants and builds relationships between each participant who has ready access to other participants once registered. The network can be divided into separate business groups according to the nature of the goods and 20 or services. For instance builders architects and engineers can form one group. Other groups might be legal service providers or medical service providers. Since the network is interactive and on line, the business model enables meetings over wider geographical areas via the NBN, skype or one line person to person via the subscriber network.   1. 3. A method according to claim 2 wherein the participants are grouped into 30 geographic areas and the host web site or station is a centralised provider which 1 processes uploaded data and makes that available to all registered participants according to the groupings in the network.

A computer software application for use in establishing and participating in a 5 business network enabled by the application, the application capable of receiving, storing, processing, altering, updating, amending data and image input regarding the goods and/or services provided by or required by participants in the network; wherein the application allows a participant to input data into the application when preloaded into a participant's electronic device 10 such as a mobile phone, iphone, ipad, computer, television or tablet; the application allowing inputted data to be uploaded to a host web site and/or social media site for interactive contact with a potentially unlimited number of consumers in a subscriber network for the purchase and/or supply of goods and services to participants within the network. 15
